Unless the Sharks go with 8 players protected (a possibility), Schlemko will likely be exposed. He is a top four defenseman on a great contract. It would suck to lose him.

In the expansion draft?

Also a bonus question how will Vegas draft this upcoming year just thrown in the lottery ?

Vegas will have the 3rd best odds in the draft lottery.

They'll have to come up with a new set of odds because the current one has just 14 teams and 100% of non re-draw outcomes distributed(11,12,13,14 is a redraw), they can't just invent more percentages to give Vegas above 100% that's already given obviously.

3rd place team had 11.5% odds, so roughly that percentage will have to be redistributed from other slots. Or keep the current top slots and redistribute the bottom, I'm curious if the last place team will still have 20% odds. Probably not, it will probably be dropped to say 18%

In terms of how they go about selecting players, mcphee has stated that he would done one every couple of weeks during the season just to get a sense of the players he would get. Smart move imo.

I think he selects the best 2 aywrs from each team, noting his first and second choice. Then when it's all said and done, he looks at the final board and starts to out his roster together.

This way, he can figure out where his team is deficient. Be it rhd, le, or whatever. Then he can go back and see who the best ones that he didn't pick are with and determine what changes he needs to make.
