Pietrangelo is the only one of those guys who is genuinely good in his own zone (and there is at least one guy on his own team who is clearly better than him in that regard).

Pietrangelo, Reilly, Mr. Burns, Letang, and probably Makar.

Next would come from amongst Chabot, Hamilton, and probably Doughty.

Chabot-Pietrangelo
Rielly-Doughty
Morrissey-Parayko
Makar/Burns

Perhaps it's a little too geared towards the youth.

Surprised that nobody mentioned Weber right now...even in the 7th or 8th spot. The guy has maybe slowed down a tad, but he's still an absolute rock back there. His offence is still extremely strong as well.

In 2 years I can obviously see him not being there, but if I was building an Olympic team for this month (and he was healthy) he would absolutely be part of my top 7.

I like the lists with Morrissey and Parayko. Even as a Leaf fan, I would rather see those two out over Rielly if the team is already stacked offensively.

Chabot - Pietrangelo
Rielly - Parayko
Morrissey - Makar
Doughty

I disagree only because Makar is a big meanie and was rude to Canada last olympics so I doubt they ask him to the dance this time.
Same thing with Giordano. I doubt Team Canada would invite Giordano to the Olympics, as he has turned them down a bunch for the worlds

This is likely my favourite group. Maybe Burns or Giordano instead of Morrissey.

That would be a ballsy roster for Canada to send out there. Peter Angelo and 5 babies xD. That said I think it has some of the better balance of these other proposed charts.

2014 Squad.

Canadian defensemen aren't what they once were. We peaked in those two Olympics. Hopefully a couple prodigies in the pipeline come up soon because there aren't that many good players right now.

A poll would be nice to see.

My take:

LD Giordano -- RD Letang
LD Chabot -- RD Doughty
LD Rielly -- RD Pietrangelo
7th RD Ryan Ellis

Most promising kid: Cale Makar
