Based on the city size /proximity for the American teams. Dislike for the Canadian teams.

If it was based on how the team was run it would be Edmonton or Ottawa. Clownish.

Vancouver - I lived there for 7 years and the fans changed loyalty as often as I change my underwear.
Winnipeg - Weather even worse than Edmonton. No THX.
Montreal - Don't speak French.
Jersey, Carolina, Florida, Arizona - They probably shouldn't even have a hockey team.
Islanders - Their building doesn't have enough seats for my greatness.
Minny - Yay more winter and I'm not playing in Edmonton. No THX.
Ottawa - Evil owner. Team imploding. No THX.

We all know that Edmonton is likely at the top of most no trade lists despite having Connor.
The city and the weather aside I have to believe that if this team wasnt such a joke (and was an actual contender) then those lists would look a lot different.

The s****y thing is that the team actually had a chance to get over the stigma of being the place "nobody wants to get traded to" when MacT was sacked, Nicholson took over and Connor was drafted.

While people may not like the deals now, both Lucic and Sekera were amongst the top available FAs in their respective years and weren't substantially overpaid (at the time) based on what similar players received.

Unfortunately, the team has crapped all over that goodwill with its inept management, so here we are again. Right at the top of most players' no-trade lists.

I suspect most players would want to win a cup so their choices would be based on the teams winning ways. Things like warm weather in January, golf in December, and laying on a beach in February is what the fans wish they could do, and inevitably these kinds of threads always end up being “my city is great and your city sucks” type of thing so I take them with a grain of salt!

Calgary
1. Ottawa - Cheap owner, losing culture, climate, and ground zero for Liberals
2. Edmonton - Losing culture for over a decade with no hope of it turning it around for the the foreseeable future, and the climate(they would be first if I didn't have ties there)
3. Florida - "
4. Arizona - "
5. Buffalo - "
6. Winnipeg - I don't even like visiting there; never mind living there.
7. Minnesota - Just think they are mediocre and the city does not appeal to me
8. Toronto - f*** the Leafs, their fans, and the 401
9. Washington - No interest
10. Colorado

Rather play for demanding fanbases in hockey communities than be an afterthought in the sun belt.
Couldn't disagree more. To be a 20-something pro athlete millionaire living it up in Florida or LA...

I literally looked into the eyes of 2 Jets players during IIHF WC when asked "How's Winnipeg?". I mean... c'mon dude.

Check out any young pro's ig stories when on a California road trip vs. Western Canadian swing.

Oilers are the only Canadian team I would play for, it’s my home lol.

As for the others, I voted no because playing in front of empty arenas would just be depressing.
