Look at the drama Bruins and Caps series caused on here and it was the first round. Any match with the Leafs will always be on here. The homers will hype everyone to shit and the haters will look for any reason to proclaim to the HF heavens they were right and XYZ really does suck or is over rated.

And then everyone else gets caught up in it, and usually Now imagine the other team had some other storyline to it (like Boston and the 2013 collapse). For example Matthews vs Eichel, or Leafs vs Jets, or Matthews vs McDavid.

Basically pick any team that has a rabid following either for the team itself or for a particular player and watch the shit show.

On an extra note, try to compare Crosby & McDavid's team chemistry & playing styles: Who's better offensively & defensively? Any special attributes/skills? Would they still succeed with different players or team systems/strategies?

Ultimate shit storm:

It’s game 7 in Toronto. Stanley cup finals. 19 minutes deep into double OT in a 0-0 game. Matthews has the puck on a 3-1. He gets pulled down from behind by Draisaitl in a quite obvious penalty. The refs don’t call it, McDavid grabs the puck, wheels up the ice and buries it in on a breakaway. McDavid raises the cup for Edmonton, in Toronto.


I don’t think there is a scenario that would cause more of an uproar on this site.
