Unit A:
Zacha-MacKinnon-Kane
Barrie-Fiala

Unit B:
Zacha-Matthews-Kane
Barrie-Fiala

For simplicity let's assume there's 8:30 left in a 3-3 tied game with this team tieing it up about 3 minutes ago.

Depends - which unit has Steven Lorentz ready to slot in as a 6th man if needed?

I guess it boils down to Mackinnon vs Matthews on that unit.

I think Mackinnon is better than Matthews, but I take Matthews here. He's simply a better goalscorer and with Kane's playmaking I think that duo would be great.

Replace Zacha with an elite scorer and I might lean back to Mackinnon.

I would take Mackinnon, the PP would be more naturally positioned since Kane/Fiala are left shots so you can have Mackinnon set up across from them for the 1-timer. Put Barrie up top and Zacha out front.

I think Mackinnon is a better player than Matthews, but the handedness and PP structure make this an even easier vote for Unit A

I'll take MacKinnon for the zone entries, ability to quickly push the puck back to the attacking zone, and mostly just...the flexibility of that RH Shot on a unit where Tyson Barrie is the only other one.
