Marleau - Not a HOF worthy player, but I suppose he does if he breaks the games record.

Perry - Good enough resume, but not a HOF worthy player

    Getzlaf - Yes

Kovalchuk - No, but probably could have had he'd stayed in the league.

    Weber - Borderline

    Letang - I wouldn't

    Doughty - Lock

    Burns - I wouldn't

MAF - Shouldn't be anywhere near HOF in reality

    Rask - Likely

    Quick - Yes

All except Letang, maybe not Kovy and Marleau. Goalies a tough call though because HHOF has seemingly had different standards for that position.

Also (in advance): the “Hall of very good” isn’t a thing and might be the most abused phrase on this site AINEC.

    Ok, second.

Why is perry a yes? Just because of his one fluke season? One of which he never even came close to ever matching again in his career or before it.

He is 36 years old, and just this season cracked 800 points in 1050 games played.

Marleau will make it because of the sheer length of his career.

Without digging too deep into stats, Marleau, Doughty, and the goalies should all make it. International/olympic performance might help a couple of the other guys as well (and sink a guy like Burns a bit).

Elias is another good name to add to this list as he is in that same category of borderline HHOF.

I agree with you actually. Hart/Rocket/Cup/Olympic Gold is a good enough resume to get in, but he wasn't really in that tier of player. I'm going to edit my post.

Only 3 players that won Hart Trophy didn't make it to HOF. He's also a member of the triple gold club. He's a lock.

There's only three players who have a Hart and are eligible for the HoF which are not inducted.

Two are goalies - which seem to have much higher standards to be inducted.

    Jose Theodore - hart,vezina.
    Al Rollins - hart, vezina.
Tommy Anderson - hart. No Norris (played in the 30s)

Perry has a Rocket and some other stuff outside of the NHL. Its also easier for forwards to get in.

Id be very surprised if he didn't get in with near 900 points.

And sooner or later that hart stuff is going to have to end because then you get complimentary players like perry that has 1 fluke season in his career and the media is stupid enough to vote for him gets him into the hall of fame on a pretty pedestrian career.

He won world jr as a 4th liner on the most stacked world junior team in the history of the tournament. Only reason he made the olympics is because of his chemistry at the time with getzlaf.

Every one talks about the hall of very good, that is where perry fits in. He has yet to crack 400 goals, will never make it to 1000 points, and will be actually lucky to make it to 400 goals also.

He will not make it to 900 points. He is at 800 right now and he can barely stick in the nhl already. He won't or he will barely make it to 400 goals also.

Guess who didn't score 400 goals or 900 points, has Hart and was inducted 5 years ago?

Marleau - Please no. Great player & insane longevity, but never a HOF caliber player. Would bring the HHOF level down yet again

Perry - Definitely not. How can anyone think he is a HOF'er but not Markus Naslund?

Getzlaf- Think he gets in and I'm fine with it but will be one of the weaker members. He should be the gatekeeper

Kovy- Honestly would be fine with him going in, he was one of the best players in the league for a good stretch, but he won't make it

Weber - Toughest one to call. No hardware but always one of the leagues top Dmen. I think ultimately he will be voted in

Letang - No. Without injuries he would've had some really big seasons, but alas, he was always injured.

    Doughty - Lock. Norris, Cup x 2, Gold Medal x 2, consistently a top 5 D

    Burns - No.

    MAF - No.

Rask - Has the resume and I think yes, but goalies are held to a high standard

    Quick- Same as above

The other posters' breakdowns of who gets in make sense.
However, since Kevin Lowe and Guy Carbonneau got in the hall, all of these players should get in.
