Which NHL team will be best represented at the World Championships. The flyers could have 15 or 16 players, will any teams have as many or more?

Locks
Gagne-Canada
Johnsson-Sweden
Ragnarsson-Sweden
Roenick-U.S.A.
Amonte-U.S.A.
Esche-U.S.A.
Zhamnov-Russia
Markov-Russia
Handzus-Slovakia
Somik-Slovakia
Radivojevic-Slovakia
Kapanen-Finland
Seidenberg-Germany

Probables
Leclair-U.S.A.
Malakhov-Russia
Pitkanen-Finland

Also I still think there's an outside chance that Primeau will end up on team Canada.

Yet another flyer to add, Radovan Somik made the team, though I doubt he'll get much playing time.

definitely not as well represented as the power house Philly Flyers but the Oilers have...

Brewer – Canada
Conklin – USA
Dvorak – Czech Republic
Markannen – Finland
Nedved – Czech Republic
Smyth – Canada
York – USA

Probable: Hemsky - Czech Republic

Vancouver...

Naslund, Ohlund, D. Sedin, H. Sedin - Sweden (couldn't have Arvedson and Hedberg, too ;) )
Jovanovski - Canada
Rucinsky, Malik - Czech Republic
Salo, Ruutu - Finland

So, 9 guys. Not bad. I think Detroit could take it, though...

Yzerman, Maltby, Draper - Canada
Zetterberg, Lidstrom, Holmstrom - Sweden
Lang, Hasek - Czech Republic
Hull, Schneider, Chelios, Hatcher - USA
Datsyuk - Russia

I wouldn't be surprised to see Markov make it on Russia.

Dallas, no clear cut locks or anything, just thinking out loud..

Finland: Lehtinen, Kapanen and Miettinen should be locks, Numminen depends on his condition at the time.

Sweden: There's been talks that Loui Eriksson is making a very strong push to make the team.

Russia: Valeri Bure. Sergei Zubov is now an American.

USA: Mike Modano, Bill Guerin should be locks. Scott Young a possibility, depending on his condition at the time.

Canada: Brenden Morrow got named yesterday. Jason Arnott and Marty Turco missed out.

Switzerland: Tobias Stephan could be a candidate.

Norway: Marius Holtet is likely a lock depending on his recovery.

That's about it I guess..

Don't know anything about this. He wasn't even the hottest candidate when the rule about three U22's was still there.

Sergei Zubov is now an American.

it doesn't matter as long as he keeps his Russian citizenship

Fedorov has been an American for 3 years ... and he even played at the Olymics!

Scroll the Sweden board, should be mentioned in several threads if I am not mistaken. You should know better though, so I'll take your word for it. He has no shot or.. ?

This does not make him ineligible for Russia.

Yeah well maybe not. But he has declined every inventation so far, despite his Russian coach and teammates strongly pushing him. Would come as a shock to me if he were to accept this one.

I don't know if Conklin will be there. I'd say he's probably fourth on the depth chart behind Esche, Dipietro and Grahame....but that's just my opinion, he could easily push Grahame.

This is truly amazing. Also, I would not put Malakhov as a question mark. IMO he was Russia's best defenseman in the Olympics, was one of the bright spots on Rangers D  (along with Leetch), and is playing great so far for Philly..

That's what I would say too, adding Christoph Schubert who has been named to the German team, though he's an AHLer so I suppose he doesn't count.

Volchenkov has a shot with Russia, perhaps?

Red Wings possible representatives:

Yzerman
Maltby
Draper

Lidstrom
Holmstrom
Zetterberg

Datsyuk

Lang

Schneider
Chelios
Hull

All are locks, in my opinion with the exceptions of maybe Hull and Chelios. I think the USA could still use them, but they may want to skew younger.

IN:

Iginla - Canada
Regehr - Canada
Nilson - Sweden

LOCKS:

Kiprusoff - Finland
Lydman - Finland

MAYBE:

Conroy - USA
Leopold - USA (I would guess that both of these guys, mainly because of CGY's playoff run, will make it. I know Conroy has been shunned in the past, but his two-way play and speed on NA ice could really help the Americans.)
Turek - CZE
Nieminen - FIN

Not bad for a team with no talent. ;)

i don't think Turek will be on the Czech's team. Vokoun and Cechmanek are locks, and I wouldn't be surprised to see someone like Prusek as the third.

I think Conklin is definately in the mix after playing so well in the World Championships. My guess would be it's Esche, DiPietro, and either Conklin or Dunham.
