Where would you rank Artemi Panarin as of today?

What would the rangers record be without him? He’s like the entire team at this point
His Point Share is currently 5th at 9.2, which if estimated accurately would drop the Rangers from 20th to 26th. For reference, the top-5 is Pastrnak 11.1, Carlson 10.2, Draisaitl 9.9, Hellebuyck 9.7, Panarin 9.2.

I don't know what his WAR or GAR is right now.

Honest question- where do we rate dmen? Hedman, Carlson, Makar, Hughes- I’d be ok saying Panarin is a top.. 7 forward, easy, but idk how to compare to d or goalie impact.

8.9. But this is just Hockey-Reference's simple formula, it's not as thorough as WAR/GAR or other advanced stats. Calculating Point Shares | Hockey-Reference.com

That’s an underwhelming metric they must use.

no way is he behind some of those names in overall play.

As for Panarin I never understood why some ripped his contract. He produces well on any team with every center and always elite totals.

top ten player, top 3 winger

Never let the facts get in the way of a good story

what’s the good story? Didn’t know the hockey news table metric that has Roman Josi 9tn was concrete proof. I do know that eichel has points in 35 of his last 39 games and has more points then Matthews and in less games though. And right now on February 13th has more points this season then Matthews has had in any season ever. Now that’s a good story!

For the people wondering he was in another thread I’m sure you can guess what one considering the content above.

none the less, back to Panarin.

beyond talented, New York always seems to grab that one player who stands out

I was just trying to give the guy an idea of how many wins Panarin has contributed to, adding the context of his peers. It's admittedly kind of rudimentary but I don't have his WAR/GAR/Game Score numbers.

All good man, that little dialogue above had nothing to do with you or what you posted, that’s all perfectly fine. The guy above is from another thread and was just throwing a subtle shot at me due to the Matthews Eichel thread we were apart of earlier. So he saw me talk about that and that’s why he wrote that and I replied to him showing that it’s not concrete.

I know you wouldn’t of figured that since again it wasn’t explained.

I like when people post those kind of things and I appreciate you took the time to do that. Especially since someone requested it.

I can sympathize; Like Panarin, Eichel is going to be robbed of a Hart trophy nomination because his teammates aren't good enough.

He’s at yeast a top winger, baker than most. The breadth of his work this year has been rye up there.

Yup. Even if both guys just had one elite forward but no that’s too much to ask, some players have more then one elite forward on their line on the team
