Min, VGK, and MTL. No order. I don't think Min has the pieces, but they clearly need a center. Are the Wild desperate enough to pay to get PLD?

VGK needs a center as well(not as much as the Wild), and probably are willing pay whatever the price is since they are in win now mode.

MTL seems like would be the happiest long term destination for PLD.

I opted to consider this as though it meant "within the next year"; beyond that, things could change so much that making a call is really problematic. Given that...

NYI: Only if Barzal is involved.
DET: Only if Larkin is involved.
VGK: I don't see it; I don't think Glass is far along enough.
LAK: Possible.
WPG: I don't think they have the assets. Laine isn't happening.
SJS: Maybe if Hertl is involved, but even that's a stretch.
BOS: They can't; they don't have the necessary assets.
MTL: Possible - maybe even probable - but I don't think it's happening anytime soon.
CGY: Unrealistic but hypothetically feasible.
DAL: Don't have the correct assets - not with Seguin at his age and injured.
CAR: Extremely unlikely; all they've got is Aho, and, um, no.
CHI: Not this year, not with Dach injured.
MIN: Can't; don't have the assets.
OTT: Hypothetically possible but unlikely.
ARI: I don't think they have the assets, but they could surprise me.
ANA: Could, but I don't think they will.
NJD: Possible.
Other teams: There's paths for Edmonton and Toronto, but Edmonton probably won't want to and I can almost guarantee Toronto won't. The Rangers are sortakindamaybe possible, but I think it's unrealistic - perceptions of value of players are just going to be far too different.
CLB: Seems the most probable over the next year.

Heart says MTL. Doubt it happens before the offseason unless CBJ blows up and is way out of the playoffs soon enough.

What is Columbus adding to land Larkin or Barzal?

Kings have the prospects to get it done without gutting their team or future. Think they make the most sense.

Feel like it’s gonna be the Rangers. They have the assets to acquire him - not sure what their cap situation is looking like though. If Kaako has a good year, could he be part of the base?

I think Montreal makes the most sense considering how PLD would fit and that they have the pieces to make a deal. Vegas simply can't do it without a Fleury deal first and I don't know if they'll be able to pull that off right now. If they could move Fleury they could send a package around Glass or Krebs to Columbus, but even then I think other teams could probably do more to help the Jackets if their goal is to compete in the short term.

Voted Chicago, warp speed the rebuild and be ready to start making noise possibly as early as next season.

Wild definitely have the assets. Just a question of whether or not they are prepared to bundle enough of them in a god father offer.

What would a Chicago trade look like?

Would be a tough trade to make happen, but I guess from an ideal rebuild standpoint offloading one of Keith/Seabrook and retaining would be a good start, maybe Debrincat if necessary as a sweetener.

Not necessarily relative but holding onto Kane when he still likely has great value across the league seems like a mistake, could really fast forward a rebuild if you manage to trade off that $$ asset.
