Where does Pastrnak rank as a pure goal scorer?

He had injury trouble last year and put up 38 in 66 games, but over his last 82 regular season games has 51 goals. Top of the league for that stat:

Draisaitl - 52
Pastrnak - 51
Ovechkin - 50
Matthews - 49
Stamkos - 48

35 in 82 two seasons ago, 34 in 75 three seasons ago.

Top 5 likely. Probably #4 or #5 in my books, but could understand having him just outside top 5. Definitely top 10.

With his supporting talent, he could pot 40 this season as long as the injury bug doesn’t get him.

Well, the numbers don’t lie.

He is allowed to worry less about his own zone than most, though- so I wouldn’t say he’s second best, either.

Hell of a player on a sweetheart deal.

Only "pure goal-scorers" I would be sure about putting above him are Stamkos, Ovechkin, and Matthews. Those three have in my opinion shown themselves to be the best pure goal scorers in the league, and in a fully healthy year are very capable of 50 (If Stamkos and Matthews played 82 AND got top-line minutes this year I would take 50/50 odds on them hitting that mark). Anyone else like Kucherov, McDavid, Mackinnon (guys who are generally a strong bet for 40 but are unlikely to hit 50 besides maybe one peak year) is in the same category as Pasta in my opinion

you should stay up late and watch an Oiler game once in a while... there this kid named Draisaitl... #29... watch him... he potted 50 last year (none into an EN). He’s off to a pretty good start this year too (6 goals in 7 games).

Sorry but "could" pot 40? He scored 34 at 20, 35 at 21 and 38 at 22 last year in 66 games (47G 100P pace), there's no chance he's not hitting 40 if he doesn't get injured.

This was my thought aswell, should be a lock at 40 with 50 goal potential if he and his linemates stay healthy.
