Lots of hugely optimistic peeps here, even though he's woefully underperformed both relative to his draft and for his age.

I say 70% he's a 30-40 point guy, 20% he's a 30-40 point guy for a few years before he pops (Kadri, Couturier), and 10% he's playing in Germany or something.

If he was gonna be a star, we'd know it by now.

If he can change his mentality than he could be a high end 2C imo. But with his current mentality I see a 35-45 point player that occasionally will dominate in stretches.

Kind of like a poor mans duchene.

You cant seriously be comparing him to Matt Duchene. You have either never watched either player or need to pick up a new hobby.

Strome cant make decisions quickly or skate fast and has garbage edgework. So the opposite of Duchene.

I don’t mean in play style. I mean he’ll be streaky like duchene has been.

Strome- not the greatest at faceoffs, offensively gifted, deceiving shot, so-so defensively

Strome to me can go 2 ways
1) Brassard route (struggle and become journeyman)
Or
2) Monahan (improve steadily into becoming a great C)

Funny how only one person voted PPG out of 247 votes.

If Strome nets 82 in 82 2 years from now those are some nice bragging rights

Monahan is a poor comparison imo. Strome is a better playmaker than Monahan.

It should be noted this poll was started in Nov 2018, right after the trade and only recently bumped. I'd be interested in seeing what the results would look like now after seeing how he's played in Chicago.

How about by now?

Depends, in part, on how the Hawks roster unfolds over the next while. I think he'll be a good 2c in the 50-65 range.

His trajectory isn't what I was optimistic for when he was back in junior - but I just don't buy the low-level projections either.

Career avg will be around 50pts. Will have a couple 60-65pt seasons under his belt.

A consistent player for many years and one the fans love. Not a guy to carry the team, but produce occasionally as to which you won't really ask more or less from him.
