Absolutely stacked numbers almost every single year since he first became a #1 for Tampa. It's tough to put him above Price, but I see a case for him being better than every other goalie since 2012.

Not sure what case Bishop has over any of these goalies. They all have some combination of individual hardware, 1st AST and cups while Bishop has nothing.

Bishop had a pretty good career, 3 very good years with Tampa and 2-3 more with Dallas but he was not top-5 for that decade

Thomas, Rask, Luongo, Vasilevskiy, Price, Schneider, Gibson, Lundqvist, Lehner, Bobrovsky, Crawford, Hellebuyck, Fleury, Andersen, Holtby, Halak, Varlamov, Murray, Quick, Dubnyk, Talbot, Miller, Anderson...

I'm not saying they were all better but that's a lot of competition. I'd say he's around 10th

Better than Vasilevskiy, Rask, Lundqvist etc.? No.

He's not that far off Vasilevskiy (who I think is the current best goalie in the game). I think Bishop will be criminally underrated as time goes on, but he was unquestionably the biggest factor in TB developing a winning culture. The team turned a corner with a defense that wasn't really good enough to turn the corner (Carle-Sustr), despite a great top pair, and that was mainly Bishop. He controlled the game from the crease in a way that no goalie has since Brodeur, IMO. Definitely TB's MVP through that era.

The thing with Bishop was always health. I'm not sure which year, maybe 14/15, but he was putting up ridiculous numbers up until an injury around Christmas time. Something like a 1.8 GAA. I think injuries kept him from at least one vezina, but possibly a few.

And he was just so competitive. He literally did not have two bad games in a row his entire time in TB. If he got pulled in a game, you could bet the next game was going to be stellar. And then whenever he played against a star goalie, look TF out. He and Cary Price had some crazy duels.

If I had to pick between Vasy and Bishop for a season, I go with Vasy because you can trust him to stay healthy. But if I have to pick a goalie for one game, it's a tough decision. And that's saying something, because Vasy is about as good as it gets under pressure. ...But so was Bishop. He was THAT good in TB.

I like Bishop but in the last 10 years

Price, Quick, Rinne, Rask, Lundqvist, Vasilevsky, Holtby, Fleury, Bobrovsky and Hellebuyck are all better IMO.

Hellebuyck has that Vezina reputation but I think Bishop was consistently better and helped build one of the best organizations of the decade.

I think Bishop started the relay race which Vasi picked up in Tampa but will have to rank behind a lot of other superstar goalies who either scaled those championship peaks, or were stronger standalone stars on weaker teams or simply stayed healthier and for longer.

Talentwise he's on par with some of the top goalies of this past decade, but unfortunately his bad luck with injuries precluded him from having the same level of success.

But if I was a GM that could somehow know ahead of time that my goalie was going to be healthy for a full playoff run, then I'd be happy to take Bishop in my top 5 after Price, Quick, Vasi, and Lundqvist

Most underrated goalie of his generation I would say but certainly not the best. Doesn't have the absolute peak if the top 3 per say but I bet his overall consistancy year after year matches up very nicely. Price for example. While Price has more awards (without looking) I'd suspect Bishops numbers stack up nicely against his.

Super underrated. But, even if he was 8n the top 5-10 conversation at various points, his career achievements just don't stack up. Blame injuries.

Holtby: .926 sv%, 2.13 GAA
Vasi: .924 sv%, 2.24 GAA
Quick: .922 sv%, 2.23 GAA
Lundqvist: .922 sv%, 2.30 GAA
Price: .919 sv%, 2.39 GAA

Among goalies with at least 50 playoff GP, Holtby is 2nd all time in save % and 7th all time in GAA. He had 3 runs with a sv% of .935 or better (944, 942, 935). Vasi had 1 (937). Quick had 2 (947 which was only 4 GP and 946). Lundqvist had 0. Price had 1 (936). Holtby has a better case for #1 than anyone else and he's definitely top 5.
