Impossible to say. We have most of our core locked up for next season, but there are other teams in the East improving rapidly. I think we'll make the playoffs for the next few seasons, but I wouldn't assume we'd get this deep. Which is why this opportunity is so important.

The Rangers made it back right away, but who really knows. They were 2 minutes away from failure. You need some measure of luck on your side, so you can't take any of it for granted.

A young roster with obvious areas for improvement and maturation... no reason they can't be back next year, or multiple times in the next decade.

Of course no guarantees either. But there's good reason for optimism.

I didn't expect us to get this far this season. You can't expect to get to a certain round, you can only expect to get to the playoffs. After that it's all a crapshoot
