As it turns out, the correct answer is:

'When Sweden beats England, Sweden fans can say "That's revenge for 2018".'

Enjoy waiting for it to happen, ladies and gents!
Your aversion to cheering for the mackem in goal seems to have faded

Au contraire- it's rather that when people emerge from the woodwork to shout the odds before a game about what their team is going to do and their team duly fails to deliver they can expect nothing but gleeful taunts. Had an England fan posted a comparable thread they'd have got it in the neck too- and rightly so.

I wasn't only referring to this thread.

Still, it's just something else to add to inevitable glee when they face a team with a functioning midfield.

I don't mind this England team too much. But I'd still rather see Newcastle win the League Cup than the national team win a major tournament.

Not that I expect either thing to happen any time soon.

Sunderland to win a continental championship before Newcastle win the goddamn League Cup?
