Nikolaj Ehlers - Lars Eller - Oliver Bjorkstrand
Mikkel Bødker - Alexander True - Joachim Blichfeld
Nicklas Jensen - Frans Nielsen - Patrick Russell
Frederik Storm - Peter Regin - Mathias From
HM: Nicolaj Meyer - Nick Olesen - Marcus Almquist - Jonas Røndbjerg - Patrick Bjorkstrand - Mathias Bau Hansen

Malte Setkov - Philip Larsen
Jesper Jensen Aabo - Oliver Joakim Larsen
Markus Lauridsen - Matias Lassen
HM: Oliver Lauridsen - Anton Stenbakken - Phillip Bruggisser - Nicholas B. Jensen - Kasper Larsen

Frederik Andersen
Mads Søgaard
HM: Sebastian Dahm

Oliver Lauridsen instead of Setkov please. He is miles in front of any other blueliner in own zone. Setkov doesnt even play SHL anymore and is not yet ready for the big stage. O. Lauridsen would also kill anyone who tries to run over Andersen. I dont see Setkov doing any of that.

Anton Stenbakken will be 17 by the time the olympics is on. I would like to think our depth is a little bit better than taking a 17 year old into considerations. Nichlas B Jensen, one of the best blueliners in DEL should be lightyears ahead of Oliver Larsen.

Patrick Russell should be a 4th liner at best, same with Nielsen if his current deroute continues.

I'm surprised how many leave JT Miller off the American lineup, I mean him centering Boeser I would think would be a natural selection. He's 7th in the league in American forwards scoring atm.

Laine - Barkov - Rantanen
Teräväinen - Aho - Granlund
Donskoi - Haula - Kakko
Kapanen - Hintz - Lehkonen

Jokiharju - Heiskanen
Vatanen - Lindell
Nutivaara - Ristolainen
Määttä

Rask
Raanta
Korpisalo
In 2022 that top-6 (Maybe Kakko instead of Granlund if he develops as projected) will be quite even with USA and Russia, leaving Sweden and Czechs quite comfortably behind.

Bottom-6 lacks depth more than other top-5 countries, but it's still way better than before. Even bottom lines are capable of scoring against any team and wont be having these Jarkko Ruutu type of grinders or other role players just to fill up roster.

Also that d-core could get some help if players like Vaakanainen, Välimäki, Thomson/Heinola takes some big leaps and develops as expected.

Maybe on the fourth line. He's a good player, but nowhere near a lock. There are a number of similar level players who could make the team instead.

This is close to the best lineup that I could imagine for the Czech team. Looks quite alright on paper! Some future improvements on the D and G spots would be nice :)

Voracek - Krejci - Pastrnak
Vrana - Hertl - Frolik
Palat - Chytil - Kase
Kubalik - Faksa - Necas
(Simon)

Kempny - Gudas
Simek - Hronek
Hajek - Polak

Rittich
Mrazek
Francouz

Zadina would have to have a major flop in his development to not be Top 6 on that roster... Much less not make it at all.

Both McDavid and Matthews were quoted recently on saying they want the NHL to participate in the Olympics and want to represent their countries.

As of today.....who are your current rosters for 2022, if the NHL participates?

Mine for Canada....

MacKinnon - McDavid - Marner
Marchand - Crosby - Bergeron
Huburdeau - Tavares - Stamkos
Hall - Schiefele - Seguin
Barzal

4 lines that can score and would be absolute hell in terms of speed. If we needed a shut down line out there, as crazy as it sounds, I'd throw out the Crosby line in a defensive role.

Pietrangelo - Doughty
Ekblad - Weber
Reilly - Hamilton
Makar

So many strong right defencemen for Canada that it is a challenge finding lines. Weber may regress again, but given his efforts this year, I think he makes the team.

The Crosby line as the defensive line? Wonder how that would work in terms of ice time?

I get the Czech part... but Sweden?
Barkov-Aho vs Pettersson-Zibanejad goes slightly to Finland. But wingers make the difference, currently (or probably 2022) there are no Swedish wingers on a same level with Rantanen, Laine or even Teräväinen. Lindholm might be the closest one, Forsberg is good but not on a same level.

But never know, this is just my prediction. Kakko needs to step up big time though. He's just a kid, but insanely talented one so he's got time. Aside of Laine and Heiskanen, these young Finns haven't really done much in their first season.

I think they would be the second line in terms of ice time....or more like a 1b. However if pressed into a defensive role to stop the other teams top line and defending a lead, I think I'd want Crosby's line out there for that

Just a hunch, but 2022 is when the next tournament probably is, so the team might look like this.

Hall-McDavid-MacKinnon
Marchand-Crosby-Bergeron
Tavares-Stamkos-Marner
Huberdeau-O-Reilly-Scheifele
Point

Rielly-Pietrangelo
Chabot-Doughty
Makar-Weber
Letang

Price
Holtby
Fleury

I'll put a wild card on here, and it is wild, but still, Alex Lafreniere. By February 2022 he has played 1.5 years in the NHL. It all depends on what sort of jump he makes in the NHL. If it is a Thornton/Lecavalier start then no, he doesn't make it, but if it is a Crosby/McDavid start then yes he's in for sure.

Our first line has got to be the fastest line you could possibly put out there. Another thing, the team has most players in their prime. Crosby would be 34 by then, but I don't doubt he is still a force. Price is 34 as well. The only concern I may have is the blue line may not have the physical dimension to it that it needs. Lots of puck movers and shakers and still some good defensive defensemen too but how physical is it? That might be the one concern.

But if our forwards are scoring like they should maybe it doesn't matter as much.

Samsonov would be my guess for 3rd goalie. However, they're all good. Russia is creating goalies with ease right now. Shestorikov (sp?) might be a full time NHLer by then. Also, Georgiev. You guys might actually have a goalie controversy by the next Olympics as you'll have too many good ones.

Is there a potential NHL goalie in the pipeline for Switzerland?
What about future NHL Dmen?

I think the Swiss team would be a nightmare to play.

Upfront not a chance Stastny is on the 2022 team. He will be 37 sometime in 2022 as Schmaltz, Nelson, Trocheck, Coyle, Stepan, Johnson and probably Hughes will be candidates before him. Stastny wouldn't be guaranteed a USA C Team slot, literally.

Care to explain how you missed Werenski, Slavin
and Pesce? Fox, Hughes, Deangelo, Trouba, Petry, Fowler, Krug and Dumoulin
will be bubble D men.

Here is your D. Werenski. Jones
McDonagh. Carlson
Slavin. Pesce
McAvoy

I would have Kreider at LW on this team with Larkin
and maybe Lee and Nelson together in a
4th line, but lots of options up front after you
slot in Eichel, Matthews, Larkin, Kane, Gaudreau
Tkachuk, Boeser, Connor upfront.

Schmaltz, Johnson, Trocheck, Nelson, Hayes, Hughes,
Stepan, Kreider, Pacioretty, Miller, Lee, Atkinson, DeBrincat, Keller
B. Tkachuk, Tuch, Palmieri, Wheeler, Saad, JVR
Kessel, Coyle, Zucker all will be considered for the remaining
5 spots.

[/ QUOTE]
Sorry, but Georgiev is Bulgarien.
