Can't believe you got Steve Duchesne coming out of retirement for this one.

Not sure how any coach justifies breaking up Marchand - Sid - Bergeron...

Goalies seem to be the biggest unknown at this point.

How can any team not have Couturier on it?

Vatanen and Niku should probably be in the discussion, maybe over Vaakanainen and Juolevi. Also Donskoi over Nättinen and Vesalainen.

    M. Tkachuk - Eichel - Kane
    Gaudreau - Matthews - Boeser
    B. Tkachuk - J. Hughes - Guentzel
    Connor - Larkin - Debrincat
    Trochek/Schmaltz/Nelson

    Slavin - Carlson
    McDonagh - Jones
    Werenski - McAvoy
    Q. Hughes
    Trouba

    Gibson
    Hellebuyck

    Notable omissions:
    • Kessel because he's already 32 and looks like he's on a downward trajectory.
    • Oshie because he'll be 35 or 36 by the time 2022 Olympics get here. Even though he's still good now and has been great internationally in the past, his age probably catches up with him by then.
    • Wheeler -- see Oshie
    • Suter because he's 33 already. He's aged well so far, but I'd be surprised if he's still one of the U.S.'s best D by the time the next Olympics get here.

Toews will likely make the team whether people like it or not. Hes a TC mainstay and was an absolute beast in 2010 + 2014.

Goalie wise we will see what happens. I think Holtby/Price will be the guys, with Holtby starting. Who they choose for 3rd goalie will be interesting, maybe a guy like Binnington or Carter Hart if they keep it up.

Also, not convinced they take Point over Stamkos, who can play RW.

Other names to consider - Barzal, Giroux, Couturier, Hall (depends on his play), Huberdeau (can play LW, a weak position), Seguin, Benn.

I'd imagine Ben Bishop as one of the 3 goalies.

No point in projecting goalies at this stage. Probably some big misses, hopefully people can point out who I forgot.

That was a sick team and I'd like to see a similar concept again in the future.

    Like hockey porn.

Besides, national teams and international tournaments are boring. Can't really root for any team to win because all of them have non-Blackhawks among them.

Also, why is this in the NHL sub-forum and not in international hockey?

MacKinnon doesn't play LW. Kakko over Mikko is also hilarious.
