Tim Kennedy played his first season with the Sabres in 2009-10. He played quite good hockey, added 26 pts in 78 games. Then he got traded to New-York and sent down to their farm. What's up with him? What is his future in the NHL?

Just to clarify -- Kennedy's first year as a pro was in Portland and they worked to move him from his college position --- LW --- to center with mixed results. He was a rookie last year, picked up 26 points over the course of the season, and had arbitration rights. The Sabres had to accept the arbitration ruling due to the minimum allowable contract term being higher than the award to Kennedy, but they then turned around and bought him out. He wound up with the Rangers as a UFA and has been in Hartford since.

He's a small, quick player with a little yap and fiestiness to his game. He's not able to handle center duties at the NHL level and had issues defensively as well, mostly in terms of correct coverage. He looks like a classic tweener -- good for the AHL and will get some games at the big-league level but until he adds something else to his game, he won't be a regular on a better roster for long.

Wow thanks for your answer. That's good because I really thought he was some sort of a defensive specialist, or a good 4th line forward. Well thanks for the precision very appreciated!
