He was looking good in Arizona, but had a bad stint with the Kings and has now played in 41 games with Edmonton and has yet to score a goal this season. What happened to him?

Any offense he had in him disappeared after preseason. Can't even really say he's snakebitten, he doesn't get many chances to score. I can probably count on one hand the number of good opportunities he's had this season.

The guy can skate really well but he has no hands at all. That's just how he is.

    Good skater, good pker

No hands, garbage shot, perimeter player

Decent guy that have on your 4th for pk duties at ~1.2m, anything more is an overpay.

I’m not even sure I’d say he skates really well anymore. He skates ok, and is a decent PKer. Basically, he’s a 4th liner who should put up 20-25 points.

Bit of a personal philosophy but I dont support playing any forwards who cant score the occasional goal. You'd have to be contributing top end PK, tons of assists, or one of the best possession players in the league to have zero goals or even jsut one every 40+ games. Too many forwards who can usually do the same level of defensive work for equivalent assist totals but actual goal production.

People said crap about Boedker as well, he's also not trash like Reider. He's just on a bad team that he's a bad fit for.

Reider is completely invisible except the one or two times you notice him win a puck race... and that’s about it.

Confidence, identity, and team issues, maybe. He's not particulary fast, but he occasionally gets scoring chances and provides puck support. He's very cold right now.

It's odd, he just doesn't seem to do anything overly well aside from kill penalties. He typically doesn't hurt us, but he doesn't really help either. He's just there.

He's just not that good of an offensive player anymore. Pair that with the fact that he's playing in an absolute dumpster fire and, well, there ya go....

He was getting top line/top 6 minutes in Arizona and complied some points but was not an efficient or impactful scorer. volume shooter, not much hockey IQ or vision on the ice. now his minutes are down and he's playing deeper in lineup, not surprised the production has completely dried.

I'd take him back for less money, actually feel he has been one of our better 4th liners just his lack of offence is not ideal. Start of the year he was getting chances but since he's been back from injury he has been non existent.
