Now that we know who is in the running what does everyone see happening with line combinations and who ends up making the final cut? Also who will be the captain and assistants? Here's what I think might happen.

Forwards:

LW C RW
Bergeron "A" Crosby Perry
Dawes Richards "C" Stewart
Getzlaf Carter Colliton
MacArthur Stone Fehr
13th Forward: Dixon

Defence:

LD RD
Phaneuf "A" Weber
Coburn Seabrook
Belle Green
7th Defenceman: Barker

Goalies: Beauchemin
Nastiuk

Do you honestly think with Sutter being the coach that Phaneuf won't be the captain??

I thought Phaneuf should be the captain anyways, but with Sutter coaching I think it will be a no brainer!

I think its a toss up between Phaneuf and Richards but you are right it could very well be Phaneuf wearing the C.

I won't bother trying to guess everyone who will and won't make the team...hard to do that these days...but I will give you my opinion on a couple of guys.

I personally think with all the goal scoring that is available on this team a guy like McArthur will be cut before his team mate Stefan Meyer. Meyer is a Linden-esque player. Huge leadership. Tough to play against. Excellent defensively. And he can score too. Great, great penalty killer also. He would great on the 3rd line.

Goalie wise you have to give the nod to Beauchemin as the starter. He is having a great year so far and played amazingly against the Russians this past week or so ago. Back-up has to go to Nastiuk or Glass simply because they are playing better than Dubnyk. I would give the tip to Glass on that account: Nastiuk has been over played lately by the Tiger's and he is looking tired and off his game.

As well, because this is a Sutter led team I think the 20th skater will be an extra
d-man: not a forward. A guy like Alexandre Picard or Danny Syvret. Going with only 12 forwards is risky but we all know this is going to be a team run mainly on three lines and will be a very defensive team...lose a d-man and all of a sudden you have to convert a forward to a d-man...while converting a d-man to play a checking role on forward is a lot easier.

How about this line:

Fehr - Stone - Crosby

Stone & Fehr are posting crazy numbers in the WHL, while Crosby is the best of the bunch...

Seriously, here would be my team, but I'm pretty sure it won't be Sutter because he won't cut WHLers, but OHLers and QJMHLers.

Patrice Bergeron [A] - Sidney Crosby - Ryan Getzlaf
Nigel Dawes - Michael Richards [A] - Anthony Stewart
David Bolland - Jeff Carter - Corey Perry
Stephen Dixon - Jeremy Colliton - Eric Fehr
extra: Stefan Meyer

Dion Phaneuf [C] - Shea Weber
Cameron Barker - Brent Seabrook [A]
Braydon Coburn - Danny Syvret
Shawn Belle

Kevin Nastiuk
Devan Dubnyk

* LW - C - RW
1 Bergeron - Crosby - Perry (The Top 2 scorers in CHL and a "proven" NHLer)
2 Dawes - Richards - Stewart (Very balanced line. Was A+ last WJC's)
3 Stone - Carter - Fehr (No lack of size, skill, experience and poven chemistry)
4 Ladd - Getzlaf - Colliton (Similar to line 3, but more checking/toughness, less scoring)

Xtra: ...torn between... Dixon (the experienced/versatile veteran) OR Bolland (the versatile '86 birthday - a rare eligible returnee for next years WJC's)

Phaneuf - Weber
Coburn - Green
Barker - Seabrook
Belle

Beauchemin
Nastiuk

I'd love to see Getzlaf and Perry on the same line, if my memory doesn't completely fail me I believe they were great at Ducks camp playing on same line with Glencross.

They could put Ladd to their line as he's familiar with Getzlaf.

Size, skill, toughness. I like it.
