I don’t really see very many moves to make right now. The only players with much value are the players we need more of.

Parise at the TDL (50% retained) because he wants out and plays well enough again this year that a contender wants him. Tampa or Florida.

Over 3.5 million dollars retained for the next 6 years is a ridiculous amount of salary

The Wild would be on the hook for ~$25m in recapture penalties. That would be a ballsy move by the GM to trade him (or Suter).

As much as we say it is very hard to acquire a center, O'Reilly, Johansen, Duchene, and Zibanejad, not to mention Kadri, Galchenyuk, and Turris, have been moved in the last 2-3 years.

We are looking at unhappy campers or teams not willing or unable to throw big $$$$ at their 20-something center.

The chance was definitely there with Toronto this last offseason, but it would've required taking a leap of faith with Nylander or stomaching Kadri as player.

Hindsight with O'Reilly, based on what St. Louis gave up, it probably would've taken Nino/Coyle + Kunin + 1st. I'm sure most people would do it now, but 14 months ago, that was way too much for an "over priced 2nd line center with loser's stink".

Zibanejad was traded 4 years ago. But we don't have the assets to move.
