Surfing through hockeydb.com and I noticed the Canadians have had two big draft years since the 80's that have molded their team.
In 1987 they drafted Andrew Cassells, John Leclair, Eric Dejardans and Mattieu Schnieder. Although these players best seasons came with other teams, they were still influnential in the Canadians history.
The other season that popped up was 1984 when they drafted Petr Svobada, Patrick Roy, Stephane Richer and Shayne Corson. (Also Gord Crosby...maybe you've heard of his kid?)
Don't for one second confuse me with a Habs fan, I was actually looking up 1995 1st round bust Terry Ryan who I heard in an interview yesturday when I stumbled on these decent draft years. I know there are better years (1979 and 1980 Oilers anyone? ). I'm just curious what everyones opinion of the best single draft year for 1 team is.
