Give us a Be a Pro mode that has actual depth. I want something like 2K has for NBA, it's insane that it's been the same BAP mode over, and over, and over, and over every f***ing year. Give us some good single player content, not everyone wants to play World of Chel or HUT all the time. But that doesn't make them money daily.

I would like to see basic simple errors cleaned up.

For example in my Franchise mode a guy I traded for on my AHL team in November is still getting shown to be playing "his first game" with my team in January. He's played 27 games since the trade. That error has been like that since NHL 18

Not that I need it (as I have self control, and don't trade prospects)

Trade value based on potential, draft position (for players who have played 1 or less seasons in the NHL) and production. That way, a guy who has elite potential picked in the 5th round doesn't have the same value as a guy picked 5th overall, when neither are in the NHL.

Roster Sharing

Even if they were to do it as a DLC lolol I think it would give them a bunch of money .

Then just disable it somehow if they are afraid people won't buy the following year

im a big franchise kinda guy so here are some ideas for that:

i would love to see them bring in coaches. would really add a different layer with the way that ive never edited strategies, but it would be cool to have to look for a coach that suits the way your roster is built.

another thing would be if they could add all star weekend in, maybe make the winter classic/stadium series events your team could win based off of having an exciting young player/a really good team/rivalry.

realistic asking prices in contracts. for example is a 79 year old is having an 80-point season miraculously, he should be asking for more than the 2 million most 79-overalls get.

some of the simpler things above might already be asking for too much, so this is the biggest stretch, but what about an in game expansion. say in 2025, the league decides to expand again mid franchise mode, so you have to make a protected list.

maybe a new potential system. i'm not in love with the low elites because i find they either really breakout, or get stuck at 76 overalls. say for example timothy liljegren should be a low elite, but he shouldnt get stuck as a depth defenseman because its not top 2 or depth....theres top 6 and top 4 inbetween. idk, just from my experience my low elites either become super elite, or just completely fail to be anything. normally if they dont reach their ceiling they'll atelast be a 3rd liner.

ability to edit lines in game. Someone in your top 6 or top 4 gets injured in the 1st min of the game then your lines are ****ed for the rest of the game.
3rd jersey option
Create Jersey option could be cool too.

1 thing i would like added is the ability to see all trades made for the season, instead once you sim a lil ways ahead, all trace of the trades made early on, are gone. is that SO HARD to be able to do??
also another thing, i want to be able to see my team history, stats wise, like previous gen. see where i finished for each season of employment under that team.
also, this has been requested a buncha times, but if i trade for a player, there should be a split stat for the previous teams stats, and then 1 for the new team. if i trade for a player, i don't want to have manually memorize what their stat line was before acquiring them.

COMPLETE SCORCHED EARTH REBUILD OF BE A PRO, PLEASE! they took a step in the right direction by adding in the skills/TP/SP system, but the mode as is, is stale AF. i want an experience. as a young player on my entry level deal, i would like to be suddenly traded, without requesting it. if i get drafted by a top team, but in the minors/not high in the lineup, most teams would make a trade near the deadline to bolster their team.

1 more thing, kinda nitpicky, but if i create a female player, DISTINGUISH BETWEEN HIM AND HER. it's not THAT hard.... like i created a female prospect just for fun, and they keep referring to her as him/he. like c'mon....

Coaches - Definitely. They used to have coaches, don't know why they stopped.
Contracts - For sure. For example, I was looking at contract demands mid-season last year for Jonathan Dahlen, who was 77 OVR at the time and played 0 NHL games at that point in his career. His ASKING price, with 0 NHL experience, was 3 x $4.5M! Even knocking it down to a 1-year extension was still $4M! Fortunately, it was more realistic when we actually got to the re-sign period (ended up signing him to a 1-year, $0.825M contract). Meanwhile, Boeser wanted 5 years x $7.75M, ended up taking 5 x $6.975M, and he was top 10 in scoring at 89 overall. Ovechkin, coming off a 59-goal, 95-point, Richard, Art Ross, Hart-trophy season hits free agency and only gets 2 x $8.25M? I mean, come on.

Make the attributes unique to each position (forward/D). And stagger how much each attribute is worth.

Ex., stick checking or face offs. Why do D even have faceoff attributes when editing players?

I would like to see something with suspensions and/or fines. Would make it more realistic specially if you can get kicked out of a game for late hits/boarding, etc.

And maybe something like old time arenas like on MLB the show. Be fun to play in some of these barns like Olympia, Maple leaf gardens, Montreal Forum. Include the weird dimensions that some had.

And having a more variety of custom logos. Does any one even use the fonts they provide as logos??

Make Be A Pro interesting and deeper. It's a fun mode in theory but there's not much to it besides from playing the games. I had a madden game like 10 years ago that had a deeper mode like this.

Sharing rosters would be great.

Something to help get around the always awful soundtracks would be nice.

Players wanting realistic contracts would be good too. I've had guys score near ppg, win the conn smythe and then ask for like 3.5 million. It's just kind of silly and it takes one of the hard and interesting parts of running a team out of the equation.

Not sure I get all the "everything" comments. I think the game is fun and really good in general. It's not perfect, but few games are.

I'd love to see them borrow the Signature Skills concept from the older NBA 2k games and put them into BaP or Franchise mode.

Basically, players could collect up to 5 special skills in offense, defense, athleticism, and intangibles based on their player type. So, if you played a career mode as a pass-first point guard, you'd probably pick up the "Dimes" signature skill, which gave a small boost to another player's shot rating if you delivered them an accurate pass while they were open in a good shooting area. Other ones included things like "Big Dunker," "Lockdown Defender," "3 Point Specialist," etc.

The way the game's XP stacked made you really think about how you wanted to spend your points. For some of the signature skills, you had to have certain ratings to unlock them (i.e. to get the Dimes skill you needed something like an 80 pass rating and 80 offensive awareness).

For NHL, you could have some obvious ones like Playmaker, Triggerman, or Big Hitter. But you could also have some interesting ones like:

Board Battler (requires certain strength and puck protect ratings): a player who is better able to protect pucks along the wall and is less likely to be knocked off the puck while cycling.

PK Specialist (requires certain defensive awareness and acceleration ratings): a player who temporarily boosts his teammate's poke check, defensive awareness, and shot block ratings while down a man.

Mentor (requires certain awareness and composure ratings plus a certain number of years or games played): an older player who can slightly increase offensive or defensive awareness and composure ratings of his linemates, depending on their position.

Pickpocket (requires certain stick lift and awareness ratings): when facing opposition with a puck protection rating and defensive awareness rating below X, this player is Y% more likely to complete a successful stick lift and steal the puck without drawing a penalty.

IMO, this addition would bring a big layer of depth and replayability to offline modes...which is why EA would never add it.

You're forgetting the "Skate With the Cup" feature that should have been implemented years ago
Give me the jerseys that are ugly. I'm talking the Thrashers jerseys, i'm talking the slant jersey from St. Louis, I'm talking MORE JERSEY TEMPLATES, MORE LOGOS, MORE JERSEY FONTS, THE OPTION TO ADD TEXT.
EAS needs to have quite a few people come in to tell them what we want to play with
I'd pay for DLC if it had this in it, and I hate EA and I hate DLC.

The only updates I want are a completely new development team building an NHL game with a completely new game engine (well new to the NHL series).

This franchise is beyond stale at this point. Feels like I've been playing the exact same game now for almost a decade. Done with this years version. Last years I played for about 6 weeks. Won't be buying NHL 20 at all.

Would love to be a week observing NHL's department working.

I lost all faith in this game until some serious competition shows up

I would like them to bring back the customization of your Office like NHL 04's Dynasty Mode. That was really fun.

Think I've echoed it before, but the EA series has become so stale. I would rather have 989 and/or 2K resurrect the Face-off series and/or the 2K series.

It's funny, playing NHL Faceoff 2001, you can hear Emerick say nearly the exact same things when teams are setting up in the zone. :help:

I could be wrong but didn't 2k used to make NHL games back in the day?

2K made games back in the day, that (I thought) was better than EA's product. EA had the graphics and the popularity, but 2Ks (hell even 989's) gameplay was a lot more fun than what EA had to offer.
