Yamamoto has played more than 6 games in two straight seasons, and is no longer considered a rookie.
But if he has another great preseason he'll make the squad. Whether he sticks around I don't know. I hope so we kinda need a couple players to step up and perform at that RW position. Last year preseason was such a tease with Rattie, Yamamoto and Puljujärvi playing great. The regular season turned out a wee bit differently.
As for the rest, I'm so unsure with having Holland in charge now. I've got a feeling the AHL "vets" and new signings are going to get the initial push. But it really comes down to who performs.
Bouchard's offense will make it tough not to keep him around. His play on the defensive side will be the deciding factor though.
Haas, Nygård, Jurco, Archibald and Granlund are all new faces and Cave returning, all will be competing with the rookies which will make it tough for the young lads, which is good. Slap on top of those guys you have Currie, Russell and Malone. So grabbing a spot will be extra tough coming out of camp for basically only 3 on ice spots and two popcorn munching seats.
I read somewhere here Brodziak might be LTIR because of his back but I can't find anything on the interweeb on this. I know he missed the last few games of the year but nothing seems to have been disclosed on it. So there might be a extra spot available. Anyone out there know more about this?
All this should make for a competitive preseason which I hope translates to a better regular season.
*PS: does Puljujärvi return before December 1st?
