So with Montreal having played 20 of there 48 games this season and right now
sittin on top the of Eastern Conference I ask, Where will they finish the season
in the standings? Will we stay on top or will we fall down a few pegs or fall
down to be out of a playoff spot? I think we can stay in the top 3 in the
conference if our play our game and our injury status continues to be good.

If your opinion is that we make the playoffs (witch we should) who might our
first round matchup be and who would you perfer they be? Who would be best for
a first round matchup for our Habs? Lets here what you think... Go Habs!

As long as we don't sustain a major string of injuries I see no reason we can't stay in the top 3 in the east.

I will, un-doubtley, be able to inform you of the answers to these questions after the next 28 games.

As long as we don't sustain a major string of injuries I see no reason we can't stay in the top 3 in the east.

That would mean beating Boston. Possible, but unlikely this year.

Assuming 2nd in our division, 4th or 5th seems most reasonable. Could see a first-round matchup against the mid-pack teams like NJ, Ottawa or Philly.

Toronto could find a way in as well. Wouldn't that be a great first found matchup as unlikely as it is we would play them.

We most likely wouldn't play Boston until the second round really if we're both in the top four. Maybe even third if either of us make it that far. I think Price can take Rask in a best of seven series this year, it's not Thomas standing on his head this year.

Winning Powerball numbers for this weekend's drawings would be useful as well.;)

It's not un-likely we face them first round. In all honestly they will likely finish first. And the fall for us from first to fifth isn't a long fall at all.

for my pressure... I don't want to play toronto in playoff

Gave it some thought, and I would definitely take Toronto in the playoffs. Even if they finish the year strong, a team with minimal playoff experience will be ripe for the taking. Think of it like the Senators that beat the star Penguins team the first year they met in the playoffs. Even if the Leafs beat us in the regular season, I think we're the better team in the playoffs.

But if they finish first we would have to drop all the way to eighth in order to play them first round and I don't see this team dropping off that much with only 28 games left.

The man with the wadd of cash in his pocket who bought them both ;)

I was just joking around with you.

Threads like this make me cringe a little bit though. We still have more than half of the season to play yet.

Maybe post the same thread with a week to go in the season.;)

I will tell you this pigems.

Although I can't make your predictions, I will tell you something I am confident in.

The Cup will come back to Canada this year.

I was only joking as well my friend and as for the thread I just figured it would be fun to speculate and gets everyone's opinions. And I'm also trying to work on my thread making skills lol

some of the textbook road games I've seen makes me think the Habs are best found in the 5th-8th spot. 6th looks good because it will be a matchup with the SE winner which looks like a weak opponent right now.

I never thought about it that way. That wouldn't be bad

Gonna be hard to beat the bruins. So I say anywhere between 4th and 8th. I say we finish 6th.

If we're unable to claim 1st by beating the bruins, then I'd happily take 6th over 4th or 5th. A first round match up against Tampa Bay or Carolina is a much better prospect than New Jersey, Philly or Ottawa. The southeast is extremely weak this year and if not for the automatic top 3 for a division lead, neither Tampa or Carolina would be in the playoffs (on present standings).

for my pressure... I don't want to play toronto in playoff

Y'know, I feel the same way. Rivalry, shmivalry - that friggin game last night was way too much stress. I don't need a hockey game affecting my mood, my marriage, my relationship with my kids, my therapy sessions, my business, rehab, my financial investments, my legal will beneficiaries, that issue with the loan shark, my extra kidney. I know, I know - typical Habs fan.
