Ultra-QnD headcount of 138 Cup winners out of 945 players for 14.6%.

Some guesstimation on eligibility for some players (not knowing whether playoff games were Finals games or not) and I took every player that suited up for at least one game this season as being part of the 945.

That's very misleading. That's 138 players who played this year and have won the cup in the pass. It doesn't take into account the players who played 1 game last year or 5 years ago who never won it. So the percentage of players would be a lot lower.

You look at Chris Chelios and he's been around since Methuselah was a young boy, and he has won 3 cups. It doesn't take into count players that played besides Chris that never won a cup like a Dave Manson, Jeff Hackett, or Trent Yawney etc who are now retired .

Does it take into account retired players that won Cups?

No but the problem is with that stat, is it doesn't take into account players who played 1 game in the NHL 1 full season ago or more and will never play again.

This stat doesn't take into account Duncan Milroy or Jonathan Ferland. Only Corey Locke. So the percentage would be lower.
