anyone know ?
My guess would be 6%
Less than 20% but more than 10%
It was probably closer to 5% before teams started pulling goalies with 3 mins left
According to this article from April 2016, somewhere around 4-6%.
This season it's currently 6.7%.
There have been 1,183 goals scored, 79 of them were empty netters.
NHL-wide: like 6%
Michael Grabner: 92%
Odd Empty Net Stats:
Joe Thornton has 55 goals over the last 5 seasons going back to '14-'15, 12 of them were empty netters which is 22%.
Luke Glendening has 36 career goals, 9 of them were empty netters. 25% of his goals throughout his career have been ENGs.
Joe Thornton always finds the open guy. Sometimes it just happens to be the net.
