Speculation: What moves are Tampa going to make?

Didn't find a general Tampa thread in the last 6-7 pages so thought I'd make a new one.

We're 2 weeks into free agency and Tampa still haven't made a move, despite clearly being the team most obviously in need of making a trade or two.

The market seems to have dried up quite a bit with over 90% of capspace league-wide already spent, and the longer they wait the less capspace will be available as more and more free agents get signed.

So what's Tampa's move here?

Wait 3 months... then find some way to wriggle free that leaves everybody's jaw on the floor, maybe they put Stamkos on LTIR, maybe their RFAs don't sign or take Labanc specials, etc. We all think they have to cut $10M and are in an untenable position. But the very fact that they haven't done anything at all leads me to suspect they aren't THAT worried. They have a play we don't know about. Or they figure just by waiting maybe a play will open up.
:dunno:

Oh and my bet is they move one of Cirelli or Sergachev for a blue chip prospect

Alexandria, VA
They could trade a Cirelli and Sergashev for players ready to start their ELCs who were top 12 draft picks

Sergashev is harder because of the ED next year.

Tampa will have an easier time moving Palat and Killorn.

Nobody will take Gourde or johnson unless Cirelli is attached or sergashev

Stammer probably retires, so that will free up some space.

If by chance, whatever he is dealing with, is career ending, it's far more likely he'd go on LTIR. He won't be foregoing the rest of his salary. That said, LTIR would give them a bit of wiggle room anyway.

Stamkos won't be going on LTIR. He'll be back for training camp, whenever that is. (Fingers crossed)

I don't think he's moveable right now either. His contract is bonus-heavy and has a full NMC. There needs to be a team with a lot of cash and a favorable tax situation to take him on. Vegas seemed possible but that ship has sailed. Would a team like Nashville or Florida be able to take him on?

Brisebois tends to take his sweet time. He seems to want to keep all of his RFAs, but if we had to keep one Sergachev is the #1 priority. We'll see if he can move Johnson, Coburn, Killorn.

Trade Palat to the Flyers for Laughton

Cap savings and get a versatile player back (LW/C/PK) who only has 1 year left.

Saves $3 million in cap space.

Uhh wheres this coming from? Pretty rare for a 31 year old to retire after back to back 1+ ppg seasons and 4 years and $34 million awaitng him.

It'd be surprising to say the least

Yeah he wouldn’t retire and walk away from a large amount of insured money. Some of these posters are ridiculous. They could have deals in place agreed to with the RFA waiting for the moment Stamkos goes on LTIR though

Why state your first point as fact when than add finger crossed? Nobody knows if Stamkos will be good to go

They give the Sharks Palat for very little and Sorensen!
Why would Palat waive his NTC to go from playing on the top line of the Stanley Cup champion in a tax free state with great weather?

At least in Johnson or Gourde's cases you can make the argument of getting more prominent roles, but for Palat he's already in the perfect situation.
