what is the Bruins record in games that they lose the fights?

had a thought tonight, that the Bruins as a team seem to take losing fights hard and deflate from it

all respect for Thornton in going hard with Orr, but it seems the team especially hates to see him lose a fight and it seems to me that it takes it's toll when it happens

curious what the teams win loss record looks like this year in games that they lost the fights? ...or also and maybe worse, games in which they avoided fights when the other team seemed to want to provoke? (and I know that rarely happens, but it has)

Really? Since then he's beaten Eskrine and Rinaldo rather handily and went toe to toe with Orr. I'd say he's exactly the same as he's always been.

As for the original question, its too early to do the leg work but here ya go...

If every guy that Orr fought gave him the same thing Thornton did last night, we wouldn't be talking about him being a top 5 guy in the league.

Not saying Thornton won outright, but it was close enough to call a draw or narrow win by Orr.

Looked to me on 2nd view Orr beat him worse then I thought... 80% win rate for Orr would prove me right...

No all that means is 4 of 5 people thought Orr won the fight, not that he beat him bad.
Drop your gloves has Orr throwing a lot more but only landing 1 more punch.

No connection IMO. They need to focus on Hockey. They are losing because they having no PP (and get very few PP opps.) That comes from outplaying your opponents and having some PP specialists and finishers...not fighting. The PP has blown since losing Savard and Kessel and never recovered. Fighting majors are a luxury they cannot afford...it rings of desperation when teams start fights to try to get momentum they otherwise can't generate.

In the players win or lose based on what the punching bags do to each other, they should smarten the heck up. An Orr/Thornton fight result should be as meaningful to the outcome of the game as the accuracy of mascots shooting T-shirts into the stands is.

Agreed, don't have any idea what it accomplishes.

16 gms with a fight:
11-3-2

14 games without a fight:
9-4-1

Had a 7 game streak without a fight: 5-1-1 (5 wins in a row)

That's without looking deeper into whether they won the fights or not....

I would bet Zero correlation tho.

Well, we win games in which Campbell fights in and those are generally losses...

 Poor guy, always willing, though I always cringe when I see him drop the gloves.

As for the query here, I'm not sure it matters really. Don't see it having an affect on the outcome of the game.
