I know he is by far the top prospect but is he on the "one in a generation" level as McDavid, Dahlin, Crosby? Who would you say he compares to most?

I'd be happy if he becomes Jack Eichel type Center?

I think he could be your #1 franchise center, but he's not really close to those generational guys like Crosby and McDavid. Better than guys like Nuge and Hischier but not as good as Stamkos or Tavares.

I wouldn’t label Hughes as a generational prospect but I would put him on the same tier as a Laine level prospect.

Absolutely he’s going to be a stud such a high iq and elite skater. I’d take him over Hischer/Patrick but not Matthews/Eichel.

He has been compared all the time for Patrick Kane.

Is he a projected winger? I thought he is by far a #1 C prospect?

I don't know about this. He plays at center and is projected as center and compared stylistically to Patrik Kane.

But there has also be rumblings, that his game won't maybe work at center position in NHL level.

So maybe he will finally become "Kane" at wing.

Clayton Keller reminds be a bit of him and he hasn't been able to be a center yet at NHL level.

Some people think he won't be able to play center at the NHL level due to being short, scrawny, and not exactly possessing a big frame. He's just not a very big guy at all, a lot like his brother.

Jack Hughes would be an amazing addition to the team. Hes got Datsyuk level skills. We desperately need that level of entertainment, hopefully zadina can be a high skill top line forward for us as well.

As prospects, I like him less than Matthews but more than Eichel. I expect him to be a franchise player who drives the offense on a nightly basis.

On the main board he's the next Wayne Gretzky. Rational people believe, as others have said, Patrick Kane is his comparable.

I can see him being a "Kane at pivot" player. Not likely to be a huge goal scorer, but his play-making and ability to drive the offense will be elite. Gimme Hughes!

He plays nothing like Laine. Bad comparison.

Never said he stylistically played like Laine but he is the same tier of prospect (e.g. upside)
