We all know about the 2005 Draft because of the CBA & Crosby. But what about the 2004 draft? Anybody remember it?

For those who do, what do you see from these top picks?

Alexander Ovechkin
Evgeny Malkin
Cam Barker
Andrew Ladd
Rostislav Olesz
Alexandre Picard
Lauri Tukonen
A.J. Thelen
Drew Stafford
Alexander Radulov
Kyle Chipchura
Travis Zajac
Wojtek Wolski
Lukas Kaspar
Andrej Meszaros
Kris Chucko
Rob Schremp

Do you see all/some/most of these guys making the show this season...if so, what kind of production do you expect?

Kaspar has been working out with Michalek in montreal this summer.

He'll be at the rookie tournament in early september, and training camp.

He is likely going back to the OHL and playing for GM Doug Wilson's friend "the Killer"

Then it's the AHL for him the following year.

Barker, Olesz, Ovechkin all signed. Barker isn't eligible for the AHL so he'll be in the NHL, especially with McCarthey recently moved.... Olesz and Ovechkin are likely locks in the NHL, Ovechkin will be on the 1st line in Washington and Olesz will likely be a 3-4th liner in Florida.

Chipchura will be back in the WHL and will most likely be on the U-20 team. You can expect a HUGE year for him if he can stay healty...

If the Raiders can't make the play-off, Kyle will surely join the Bulldogs in the AHL...

Robbie Schremp could make the Oilers at least for a short stint, as the Oilers are lacking a PP goal scorer and a guy who can burry the puck in the back of the net. If he starts out hot, I could see him staying up all year. It will be easier to tell once the Oilers training camp starts up.

The Oilers love skaters and he can't so don't count on it.

Olesz could crack the Panthers line-up. He can play LW and C, is a good 2-way player, has NHL size and speed already. He has a pretty nice upside, maybe flying under the radar with all the other super prospects entering the league.

Correction, they used to love fast guys with no hands, now they're looking towards skill and up until this season size. Robbie is exactly what the Oilers are missing, so don't be surprised if he's spoon fed lots of PP time.

Wow, they've got a pretty good stable of young centers, I wouldn't be surprised to see Keenan deal at least one of them.

re: Kris Chucko. Chucko will spend the next season and probably one more in College. The next two years in College are going to be fun to watch for Chucko. He is now 19, and could have waited a year like his ex-teammate Zajac to go to College. He went a year early and really benefited playing well down the stretch for the Gophers.

There is a good chance Andrej Meszaros will make the Sens this season. If he has a good camp, and De Vries is moved, he'll be on the team.

If not, he'll be anchoring the blue-line in Bingo.
