You have to be right about him being injured. If he needs time off, then he should get it. Move Giroux back to center for the interim.
I have a feeling that its worse than we think and he may well have a torn ligament in the knee that needs surgery and that they're going to wait until the off season to do it. Nuts on that idea. Let him get fixed now so that maybe he can come back in the spring or if not that, be absolutely in form for next season. The more that he plays on an injured up knee, the greater the long term damage to the joint.

Just because a player struggles after returning from an MCL strain doesn’t mean they should have had surgery on it. Couturier also struggled to get his timing back when he returned in 2016-17 after Provorov pushed a Panther on to the back of his left leg on 11/22/2016, resulting in a tear to his MCL.

Had he suffered a grade 3 MCL tear, he would have required a brace and crutches bumping his recovery time to 2-4 months. Only in very rare cases, does an MCL injury require surgery.

Maybe they should try drinking.

The Royal Navy used to give out half a pint of strong rum daily. Maybe issuing a half pint of Pusser's at the start of each game will help.

I mean hell why not. At least the interviews will be more intriguing.

Ok , so let's say he is injured. At what point is a poster able to complain about his production and it be a legitimate criticism?
Complain as often as you like, as a first line center hes horrible. Lets be honest. If Coots is your 1C you are in bad shape if Winning a cup is truly the goal.

Hes a great 3rd line shutdown C. But shoûdnt be anywhere near top line or PP1

Crosby/Malkin is the only center combination in the modern era that could push Couturier to 3C.

Young teams playing well, by TOI of players under 25.

Winnipeg, Connor (22) #17, Laine (20) #2, Ehlers (22) #9, Copp (24), Vesalainen (19) #24, Morrissey (23) #13 and Trouba (24) #9 on defense

Carolina, Aho (21), Teravainen (24) #18, Foegele (22), McGinn (24), Wallmark (23), Svechnikov (18) #2, Necas (20) #12, and Slavin (24) and Pesce (24) on defense

Toronto isn't a young team, they have a few high draft picks in Matthews, Marner and Rielly, and traded Kessel for Kapanen, but are rolling out Zaitsev (27), Gardiner (28), and Hainsey (37) in their top 4 on defense, and Tavares (28) and Marleau (39) at center.

Montreal, Drouin (23) #3, Domi (23) #12, Lehkonen (23), Kotkaniemi (18) #3, and Juulsen (21) and Mete (20) on defense

Colorado: MacKinnon (23) #1, Rantanen (22) #10, Zadorov (23) #16, Kerfoot (24), Jost (20) #10, Compher (23) and Girard (20) on defense

Vancouver: Horvat (23) #9, Boeser (21) #23, Petttersson (20) #5, Motte (23), Leipsic (24), Goldobin (23) #27, Virtanen (22) #6, and Stecher (24) on defense.

In two years, Flyers will probably have more starters under 25 than any other team in the NHL.
Provorov (24), Sanheim (24), Myers (23), Frost (21), Patrick (22), TK (23), Farabee (20), Ratcliffe (22), Allison (24), Lindblom (24), Rubtsov (22), Hart (22)
