Mac Miller - Best Day Ever

Always been a rap fan, since the early 90s, never really got into anything after 2005. But everyone would tell me Mac Miller was my doppelgänger and I actually see it. Then he died, and I hear a song like this - he's so optimistic while I'm so pessimistic in life. RIP man, I try to live up to our mirror now.
I'll be walking to work in the morning hating everything in the dark and remember the words "Life couldn't get better it's gonna be the best day ever".

Blink 182 - Stay Together for the Kids

I'm guessing late 90s early 2000s pop rock. I remember seeing it on some random MTV thing and thinking this song actually is the shit. Not until many years later that it hits me, as a father who broke up with my kids mom when he was a baby. Always wonder if it was the right decision, we had reasons, but hearing a song about divorce it all hits home. "Hope you enjoyed this time, you gave it all away". Makes me regret something that was unavoidable and hope he doesn't grow up feeling like this. Great song though!
