What are some offensive-minded defenseman that flat out suck on D?

Not mentioned yet, but most definitely is 'defensively deficient', is Kevin Shattenkirk.

He is easy to root for when his team is on the rush, he is pinching in, taking shots and generally driving the opposing defenses crazy....

But then, when the other team gets the puck and he is asked to fall back, or even mind a point, you realize.... this guy is more a forward disguised as a defenseman, and holy crap look at him flail away trying to stop transitioning forwards!

Oh yea...and you hope the goalie is well versed at 2 on 0's!! :eek:

I feel like a lot of these defenseman names are a bit unjust. Guys like Yandle, Barrie, Karlsson, Shattenkirk, etc. aren’t defensive stalwarts and are liabilities today, but in their prime they were passable defensively besides the occasional brain farts. They weren’t guys you want out to defend a lead the last two minutes of a game, but it wasn’t like it was a guaranteed scoring chance if the puck came their way either.
