Well, this is one opinion, but not the opinion of every hockey guru out there.

A "Young team" is not an excuse, there are lots of young teams, that are MILES better than Buffalo and have been for years now Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto all these teams are young and all these teams are MILES better than Buffalo Buffalo why is that?

Why are those teams able to build good teams but Buffalo has had Eichel for 4 years now and not only can they not build a good team but they are arguably getting worse.

Why?

Read the thread. Some good posts in here that explain exactly why.

It's interesting to note that if the 16 teams with the most points made the playoffs, the Sabres would currently be tied for the last spot with Dallas.

Not that I imagine it will stay that way. Still, it goes to show just how bad the West is I guess.

Buffalo is the ONLY ONE OF THOSE TEAMS to tear it down right to the foundation. That means no existing veterans remained. They ARE THE ONLY ONES TO DO IT.

Know your facts, it helps...………..

You need to know your facts because everything is at best inaccurate and at worst a lie.

I said it before and I will say it again the Leafs also burned the whole thing down in fact they set the forest on fire, then put out the fire, then poured gas on the ground then lit another match to make sure EVERYTHING was dead, it got to the point where our 1st line was Pareantue Bozak Komarov and Brad Boyes was in our top 6.

But it wasn't just the roster that was gutted it as coaches, scouts, GM EVERYBODY

BOTH teams burned it down ye for some reaso Buffalo is still in ashes

Even when they were winning they seemed to be just barely winning. So many of their early games that I saw that they won sorta felt like they were toss up games either team could have won. Not a knock on them I know they're just a building team right now.

1. Mittlestadt shouldn't even be in the NHL, only reason he is, is becuase he was their 8th overall pick
2. The ROR trade
3. Goaltending
4. No forward depth
5.no depth on defence
6. This is one thing that nobody mentions but for a guy who hasn't really accomplished anything or had any kind of success, Eichel has way too much pull in that organization. He got handed the keys when he did nothing to earn it.
7. Eichel isnt a franchise player, maybe Dahlin can overtake him and become the face of the team but with Eichel as "the guy" Buffalo is going nowhere. Reminiscent of Kessel in Toronto or Seguin/Benn in Dallas. They're good as support players but cant lead a team.

You guys do know the Sabres at the moment are a middle of the pack team, right?

They're not trending to stay there but at least let the final quarter of the year play out.

If they can stay in the top 16-18 of the overall standings, then this will probably be as good of a season as anyone could have expected.

For now, but they are also 6 points ahead of 26th and 8 points ahead of 27th, they way it's not out of the relm of possibility they finish bottom 5, that would take some doing but it's within range
