The recent unrest in Libya has reminded me of something I heard a long time ago. Apparently, sometime in the 80's, a team from Germany was sponsored by Col Gadaffi for a brief period of time. This caused quite a scandal. Anyone else know more about this?

The team stopped wearing those jerseys after that one game and actually filed for bankruptcy a few weeks later. So I guess it was a last attempt to save the club, nothing else.
