Grubauer gets the start against the team that really wanted him and reportedly offered a higher pick than the Avs.

Marginally better than the Senators, at least.

Also if you're putting 1500 hours into PUBG, get a real game.

Also Girard has been awful for two straight games.

I don't think he's been awful. He's had some giveaways, but that's going to happen at his age. He's always looking for a good play, and 9/10 he makes one. He's had trouble getting his shot through, but I'm sure he'll figure it out. I'd like to see him get some pp1 time.

EJ has been inconsistent and I'm not sure if Barrie has played a good game yet for his standards but the team is still winning so that's a good sign. There will be regression with Varly though so hopefully those two get it going soon.

Bednar spoke about Kamenev today for a few minutes:

I thought the Rangers game was Barrie’s best, but he’s a slow starter and now that the points are coming I expect him to get going. EJ has been a bit of a mess in a way he usually isn’t; Girard’s mistakes are more egregious looking but I’m fine with those because the upside is so high. Too often I see EJ standing around, losing his guy, or just giving the puck away unprompted. It’s not like him.

Bednar is consistently smiling in pressers this year, that's quite a change. He looks like a happy man now.

So when everyone is "healthy"....

92/29/96
13/37/22
17/34/11
56/91/10
83

??
I want to develop a legitimate checking line while also having a young scoring line behind the top line. For me, I'd be going:

92/29/96
10/91/13
17/34/37
11/22/56
83/57

We don't know what Dano is yet, so there's some hesitation on my part. I've been critical of J.T. Compher since last season, but I do believe he's our best chance of replacing what we had in Blake Comeau alongside Soderberg. However, I feel the line would be more effective with Jost on it than with Nieto, especially given Nieto's current level of play.

That 2nd line is a big risk, but I'm willing to try it out. I like Kamenev - a lot. I like what I've seen from him, I think he's a smart player and he's very clearly an NHL caliber player. All that's left to find out is how good can he really be at this level. Giving him two offensive minded wingers should help.

Heading down to Raleigh tomorrow for the game. Joe called me up and said he needed some scouting. Fresh blood, he said. Needs a new perspective. Ha!

Haven’t seen a live game in 13 years. I think I’m going to splurge and get ringside seats. Go Avs Go!

Hopefully Nieto gets the scratch if JT Comphs is available on this trip as speculated.

Don't like that CAR is on a 2 game losing streak, just as tough of a test for the Avs next game.

I mean, it's almost a guaranteed loss. They have 3 back-ups on their roster, don't think the Avs should even show up

Can anyone comment on whether or not it’s worth paying a little more for rinkside seats? I was thinking either rinkside or first row in club level. I figure the sight lines would be better club level but I can get Avalanche offense side 1-3 periods rinkside for a fairly decent price, too.
