Web camera needed for banking app?

So, I'm attempting to use my Windows 10 laptop and its front facing camera to take check images on a banking app. The image comes out mirrored so the app doesn't recognize it as a valid check. If I bought a USB camera would I still have this problem?

Note: I can't take another device and upload a picture, so it has to be within the app.

Check the camera settings from the control panel. Might be able to flip / mirror it.
