Background information for the matches:

You lucky folks get to be in the crowd for the PPV. Eden Stiles handling ring announcing and backstage interviews.

Psicosis (Cruiserweight Champion) vs Austin Aries

The former champion and Greatest Man in the World, Austin Aries, hasn’t been the same since losing his title. He’s lost his trademark confidence and often struggles to finish his opponents, often descending into a psychotic state and forgetting to even conclude the match. He blames the brutal Psycho Guillotine (top rope leg drop) that put him out of action with a concussion, but Psicosis claims that he is in the head of the former champ. Whatever the issue, Aries is intent on clearing his head and exercising his demon.

SJW (John Laurinaitis and Terry Taylor) vs. the Dixie Darlings (David Schultz and Ernie Ladd)

Chad Lawrence (Laurinaitis) and Tad Taylor (Taylor) recently returned to the HFWF as reformed men and have been taking names and checking privileges ever since. Though the crowd has generally not agreed with the efforts of the big blonde duo to tell them who to cheer for and not to cheer for, or their frequent attempts to resolve their problems verbally while in the ring, the SJW (San Jose Wreckers) have remained undeterred. This has irked the rude and very crude David Schultz and Ernie Ladd, who have long done and said exactly what they wanted, generally far beyond the limits of good taste. After invading the SJW safe space in a heated television segment and declaring the crusaders less than men who belong in San Francisco, a war was started with Schultz taking the bulk of the punishment as the SJW are wildly uncomfortable directly attacking Ladd. Many are left wondering if this feud can produce any winners at all.

Inverted Mask Match: Dalton Castle w. The Boys vs. James Gibson

Ultra serious but effective James Gibson has been ripping up the intercontinental division with dominant performances, only to be spurned by champion Jericho when he demands a match. During another Gibson match the appeared to be headed for yet another routine victory, the HFWF’s “Charismatic Milkshake†Dalton Castle interferes with his Boys, costing Gibson the match before brutalizing him in a three on one. Declaring that Gibson’s serious nature and harsh grimace were “uglifying†the wrestling world that he was trying so hard to brighten, Castle proceeded to cover Gibson’s face with his trademark peacock feathers. Subsequent months have seen a back and forth struggle between the two, culminating with Gibson challenging Castle to a final match – a mask match, with a slightly different stipulation than the usual. In this match, the loser has to wear a mask for the remainder of his HFWF career.

Chris Jericho (Intercontinental Champion) w. Ralphus vs. Kenta Kobashi w. Lou Albano

Long time Intercontinental Champion Jericho has seemingly grown disinterested in defending his title, instead choosing to turn away challengers while he and his trusty roadie, Ralphus, tour the world. Jericho claims that he must tour with Fozzy instead of taking on challengers, or sanctimonious assclowns in his vernacular, so that he can travel the world and let his international fans see him, as any good international champion should. Having turned away challengers for not being “international†enough, Jericho was rocked by the debut of international legend Kenta Kobashi, under the management of a frustrated Captain Lou Albano. While Jericho dismisses Kobashi as “not international enough†to challenge him, as Jericho is a veteran of numerous territories worldwide, and dubs himself “The Sexy Fun Shogun of Japanâ€, he eventually relents after Albano claims (with Raw host Cyndi Lauper) that he is the real “Ayatollah of Rock-and-Rollaâ€, causing an enraged Ralphus to charge the ring only to be brutalized by a Burning Hammer from Kobashi. A teary eyed Jericho has sworn to avenge his beloved roadie and prove that he truly is the best in the world.

War Games: Harley Race, Dick Murdoch, Dick Slater, Dutch Mantel vs. Jumbo Tsuruta, Masahiro Chono, Shinya Hashimoto, Naomichi Marufuji

Harley Race’s stable of former NWA hard men doesn’t take kindly to Jumbo Tsuruta’s “invasion†of their territory. After months of fierce competition, with Race feuding with Tsuruta, Murdoch and Slater (Hardline Collection Agency) tagging against Chono and Marufuji, and Mantel cutting blistering promos on the stoic Hashimoto. The Japanese stable claimed successes in almost all feuds, but discord began to grow as Race revealed a bombshell: Chono, the most Americanized of Japanese wrestlers, happened to be born in the good ol USA. Race declared that Chono was therefore no threat and liked his odds in a “5 on 3†War Games match. Chono swears his allegiance to his stable mates, but they begin to distance themselves from him, only adding fuel to Race’s word. Whose side is he really on in this “war

Kanyon vs. Super Dragon

Hard hitting matchup between two of the wrestlers with the most brutal movesets in the HFWF. Super Dragon is much feared for the devastation he wreaks, but the eternal question remains… who bettah than Kanyon?!

Freebirds Michael P.S. Hayes and Terry Gordy (Tag Team Champions) w. Buddy Roberts vs. The Santa Monica Van Boys (Xavier Woods and 2 Cold Scorpio)

The Freebirds have long dominated the tag team scene in the HFWF, and with the breakup of Los Gringos Locos they seemed relatively unchallenged. That began to change as a pair of charismatic singles wrestlers, Xavier Woods and 2 Cold Scorpio) came together to form a very popular and successful new tag team. As is their way, the Freebirds began interfering in matches that did not feature them, culminating in Gordy splitting Scorpio open with a brutal chair shot. A war of words quickly ensued, led by Hayes on one side and Woods on the other, as the crowd was fiercely split between the two factions. The Van Boys are hoping that their high flying offence can overcome their bigger opponents before the Freebirds’ patented numbers game stacks the odds in their favour.

Eddie Guerrero (World Heavyweight Champion) vs American Love Machine Art Barr w. Vickie Guerrero

Best friends Eddie Guerrero and Art Barr were long time HFWF Tag Team Champions as Log Gringos Locos before striking out into the singles wrestling scene. While both were highly talented, Guerrero was the first to attain his big break, shocking fans around the world by defeating Harley Race for the HFWF championship. Though he attempted to honour his best friend by borrowing the move that Barr invented, the frog splash, to defeat Race, Barr actually grew to resent his best friend. Eventually turning on new fan favourite Guerrero in front of a heated El Paso crowd, Barr bemoaned that Guerrero was nothing but a liar, a cheater and that he stole Barr’s own finishing move. Vowing revenge, Barr managed has set out to take everything that Guerrero holds dear. First breaking Guerrero’s ribs in a brutal backstage assault, thus denying him the ability to utilize the frog splash, Barr then lived up to his moniker and seemingly began an affair with Guerrero’s wife, Vickie. Claiming that there is nothing left to take from Guerrero other than the title, a jealous Barr and a seething Guerrero are set to clash with everything on the line.

Morozov has a good card. I especially like the quest for greatness match. Still displeased that you took two wrestlers (Bryan and Storm) one pick before I intended to take them. I would have planned things differently with Bryan. Storm was supposed to be in the spot that Gibson is in.

Good luck, definitely some things I like on your card and you clearly put some work in. Not the ideal first round opponent haha.

This is not easy. I think two strong cards unfortunately drew one another in the first round. I am REALLY going to have to look over this one before voting. Good job, fellas. Seriously.

Love Morozov's card.

He was definitely thinking the same thing as me with free agency...grabbed some of the old school X-Division guys from TNA and made an actual Ultimate X match.
