In game 2 the Oilers got away with a lot of cheap stuff and nasty stick infractions. Viscous spears, slashes, high sticks, slew foots, hits from behind.

Hughes got slew footed hard twice and both Pettersson & Hughes were hit hard into the boards from behind. Hughes got high sticked by McDavid that should’ve been a double minor (Van should be up 3-0).

The Oilers thought the Canucks would fold like a cheap suit after their brutal antics in game 2, but the Canucks came fighting back, the hits were 53-32 in favour of Vancouver in game 3.

Nurse, Carrick. Desharnais are all tough customers and the most likely to do something about it. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Ekholm either.

If someone is gonna fight next game, don't let it be Ekholm. He is actually good.

Some of yall need to be less concerned about what is/isn't called and more concerned about your team only being able to score on the PP vs a 3rd string goalie
Bingo.
I haven't talked about penalties or reffing once.

What I have complained about is Oilers goaltending, inability for the bottom 6 to do anything, the Worst-Feces pairing and 5v5 play.

The analysts who picked the oilers to win only watched highlights and read box scores. They were excellent at outscoring and overwhelming weaker opponents, but the moment they’re pressured defensively they have no answer. Outside of McDrai, the oilers are, and always have been, an absolute joke.

They feasted on non-playoff teams and barely kept their head above water against any club that scored 100 points this year.

LA had the defence but had no offence on the transition, which the Oilers were able to capitalise on. The Canucks on the other hand have the defensive strength to reasonably contain McDrai, as well as the rest of the offence, and their own offensive depth can easily tear apart the Oilers.

If Demko comes back this series, that’s the kiss of death for the Oilers.

Amazing, so much uproar over this. Barely heard a peep from Vancouver after Evander Kane intentionally kicked out Hughes’ leg from under him on a hit in game 2.

Says a lot…
That’s playoff hockey. Both teams are getting away with some cheap shots. If McDavid is going to slash a player after the game then he should expect a response. Just like any player.

Thing is, we don't want Foegele suspended. He's a not so secret weapon for the Canucks. Amore appropriate penalty would be to force the Oilers to play him more.
Fair enough in that he hasn't been anything special for the Oilers, but it was strange at the time that he wasn't given a 10 since the refs called a bench minor for off ice interference on the play, which comes with an automatic misconduct.

The logical assumption is that they didn't know at the time who exactly commited the interference. The video is clear, so the penalty can be applied retroactively. Best to nip the participation from the bench in the scrums in the bud before things escalate.
