Rantanen will eventually show up. And even if he doesn't take over, he's going to produce.

Here's a fact some people don't remember (or don't want to remember): he outscored MacKinnon during the cup run.
Well my main frustration with Rants is his inconsistency. No doubt MacKinnon is more consistent regardless of the point totals. When Rants scores he does in bunches, which can make a huge difference if he can take over 1-2 games in a series even if he's relatively average the rest of the way.

MacKinnon and Rantanen haven't even gotten going yet, my guy.

Avs with the last change is going to be huge. Lowry has done a pretty damn good job limiting MacKinnon, I seriously doubt Monahan is going to have the same luck.
If the Avs match up MacK vs Monahan, the speed difference will be terrifying for the Jets. Winnipeg will have to somehow find a way to avoid that match up as much as possible.

I think we saw Colorado's "A" game last night and it's really good.
The structure the Av's played with reminded me of many games during the 2022 Cup run. Yes, there were a couple defensive breakdowns (both of which led to Jets goals), but other than that the Av's were great at forechecking, backchecking, and keep high quality scoring chances to a minimum. I saw a lot of Jets cycles being kept to the outside, and only letting them cycle on the outside, or passes between the defensemen at the point.

As we saw with Kuemper in 2022, if the Av's stick a the same gameplan and execute it, they can go far with a mid tier goalie.

If Georgiev shows up for a game the Jets are in deep shit. Horribad Avs goaltending is their silver lining.

I have no confidence in that whatsoever.

Georgiev is out goaltending Helle at the moment.

Will be interesting to see how game 3 plays out. Literally nothing will surprise me after how the first 2 games and reg season have gone.

Jets need Hellebuyck to actually show up.

People acting like Helly is the second coming of Roy or Hasek in the playoffs. The guy is average come playoff time and the Avs will continue to light him up.

If the Avs match up MacK vs Monahan, the speed difference will be terrifying for the Jets. Winnipeg will have to somehow find a way to avoid that match up as much as possible.
Neither one of their centres are all that fast. They will have to trap to find more success

Hellebuyck is clearly not prepared for this avs attack. Winnipeg simply outscored them game 1.
If Georgiev was an NHL caliber goalie the Avalanche would sweep this series, don't care how good Helly is.

Unpredictable series. Those who thought Helly not going play any worse after letting in 6 in game 1 were wrong
Not going to make any predictions or make any bets
Just try to watch the games and accept that the better team will win the series
Helle hasn't even been that bad, look at the quality of chances the Avalanche are getting.

Have a good feeling about game 3, think the Jets take it. 2nd line is gonna have a big game after posting 0 goals in game 1 and 2

Jets are in deep shit if Georgiev can even remotely hold up, which makes it hilarious seeing how so many people were overreacting to the regular season series between these 2 teams. Colorado has looked much better at 5-on-5, and now the series shifts back to Denver where Colorado has been the best home team in the league.

In all honesty - I don't get why so few people seem to believe in Colorado this year.

To me - they are definitely favorites above Winnipeg. I'd arguably have them #1 favorites in West. Yes - their goalie situation can be concerning, but they've won before with an average goalie too.

I think Colorado will win in 5 or 6 games max.

The real challenge would be round 2 vs Vegas most likely.
