Prob cause of the long travel.

Nah, it's all about their TV plans for the weekend.

They've got Leafs/Bruins followed by Oilers/Kings on Saturday - had to shift the Canucks to Friday in order to have them play on Sunday.

Tocchet said he's not concerned about Boeser. Also sounds like Lindholm was practicing with the first unit PP in Garland's place.

He looked like a gamebreaker in his first 2 seasons. His shot was superior and he seemed to have more speed.

Tocchet hockey. He is trying to play like Joshua. He is trying to be a boards guy. He is trying to be Peter Forsberg.

He should just try to be himself.

They block shots, someone suggested just blast away and if they era in the way well they get hit. What they really should do is get some player that shoots high, head high. They will get out of the way after a few go past their ears, if that works on goalies then it ought to work on those in the way especially if they have a player shooting with a nick name like "Wild Thing".

The last good team vs San Jose they just set up Salo for blast after blast and score a couple eventually, pretty soon no one was blocking shots.

Move Hughes to PP2 and let him take a couple of laps around the group then dump the puck into the middle of the melee. Put one of the big men in front to act as a pick, big enough to block their path way to go from one side of the net to the other.

On the PP they are working so hard to stay in the lanes pass the puck behind the net two or three times and when they go to block the next pass put it in the slot or both players below the icing line step forward in front of it and then attack the net. They will be scrambling to block the shot that never comes.

The there is the Washington, Tampa and old Dallas PP's. Blasts from Ovy, Stamkos and Hull on one side and Kuchreov and Modano on the other. Canucks could do Pettersson, Miller in those roles. But those other teams had defencemen that just blast the puck.
There was Detroit's great PP where Lidstrom would shoot 3 feet to the right of the goalie and have it deflected from out wide.
But I think the Preds would fall for the deep passes they are so intent in blocking the shots and passing lanes they could be panicked into over playing the effort to get trying to stop the pass and be drawn out of position. Two passes behind the net.
Hughes doing a lap and half and they are almost bumping into each other trying to block passing lanes and as he moves the next guy has to pick him up causing them to focus on him and lose other players.

Canucks really do have a small forward group but the defence might be able to pull this out of the fire yet. Myers and Zadorov will score and both are beast when rushing into the offensive zone, player just seem to evaporate when Zadorov is rushing the puck.

He should be he isn't adding to the scoring threat or board battles, for a 40 goa scorer he has what, 4 shots in 2 games? Wow I was wrong he has 2, TWO shots on net in 2 games playing on every PP too.
Garland has 5, all the defence have more. TWO shots! No hits, no points, no blocked shots. Equals, what? A good game? Or not relevant?

Sounds like Tocchet is really preaching the guys to shoot through people and make them pay. A few Hronek and Myers clap bombs into some bodies would definitely cause some injuries. Hope we see this
84 shot attempts at 88 miles an hour hitting 8 players.

That ought to cause a bruise and some getting out of the way, maybe 20 or so head high :sarcasm::thumbu::thumbu::thumbu::fence:

Hronek, Petey, Miller and Myers can all shoot 90+ Mph shots, just let it rip and hurt whoever they will stand in front of it. Not our problems if it maims some Preds.

not joking, shoot as hard as they can is what i want. Make them pay the price of blocking a shot.
