He bounces back tonight......He has to.....Hopefully Fourgiev plays the game of his life. He seems to play best with something to prove like against the Rangers.
Wondering the same damn thing. I don't think I have ever seen this before. There's no cap and unlimited roster size. Why would you waive a guy during the playoffs?

Maybe they want to send him to the Eagles for their playoff run and he can't go down without clearing wavers?
No one told the Avs that the cap only counts during the regular seasonWhy would you waive a guy during the playoffs?
He had also been sick and hadn't played in a game since the 13th. It wasn't like he would have been coming up game-ready. You also have to take into account that this time of year (well, almost all the time, but especially this time of year) Bednar isn't gonna give you anything that's remotely accurate info. 80-90% of what he says to the media is crap. Why the f*** wasn't Prosvetov up for the 1st game then. Because the f***ing eagles were trying to get home ice? Who gives a f***. The Avs are the parent club and needed a backup who's at least played games this year in the NHL in case George faltered (and he did).
If George gets pulled after 4 or 5 maybe we still win last game.
Can't believe the AHL team took precedence over the NHL team in terms of which goalie got called up.
Ain't that funnyHe had also been sick and hadn't played in a game since the 13th.
Probably had to, to send him back to the A.Why would you waive a guy during the playoffs?

Bingo. If he has the flu, or COVID, or RSV, or whatever, that shit can take a good couple of weeks to get over, or longer given certain symptoms, especially the respiratory issues and fatigue. Remember how well Wood was playing earlier in the season, then he got sick, missed 3 games over a week's+ time, and he was never that good again the rest of the year.Annunen is sick for so long that he's going to need time to physically recover from that
Not like you go straight from sick for several days to ready to start an NHL game
Yes, I do.Practiced but not ready yet
You hate this f***en team
I couldn't find a link on this, any chance you still have it?Exactly what I saw too. Totally deflecting. Not even willing to say he needs to play better.

Stomach flu vs cold fluYet Michael Jordan put on one of the best games ever played with the flu.
We don't know what Annunen has...Stomach flu vs cold flu
hmmmm.... will we see Kovalenko soon?
