Finland made a 8 million euro profit from last year's tournament alone.

Article says they had 5500 spectators/game, do you know that number from the games in Finland?

Something is a miss. There's no way the tournament should need to have maybe 7000 spectators per game or similar with those SKY HIGH ticket prices to break even, let alone make profit. If these numbers are correct someone at IIHF is laughing all the way to the bank because they've made some serious robbery on the profit.

Announced today by Kalervo Kummola, Finnish hockey fed made a profit of 2,5 million euros from this year's Worlds. He also finds it astonishing how the Swedes were able to come up with such huge losses.

Because it's so expensive here, no tourists wants to buy anything, except baltic overclass people for some reason :sarcasm:

No but it's supply demand, and we just dont have enough demand here. I think the interest have gone steadily downward since 2006.

It's not that surprising.

This year they had decent attendence numbers. The year before they had horrible attendence numbers. Decent numbers can't make up for horrible numbers.
