Went to the latest Nashville GDT... seems like a lot of them are turning on the coaching staff.

I get that this may be a discussion for a different topic but.... man, if Lavy becomes available again... should they??

Unless Q has already agreed to come here, it's an automatic yes. And if Q is already all but ours, then it should be a conversation.

Simmons hasn't been same Simmons since last years injury. With the free agent crop this good I wonder if he only gets a 1yr 5mil 2yr 9 mil deal.

There's a reason the Flyers got such a little return for him, and why he won't get a huge deal in free agency. Other NHL teams realize he isn't the same player he was 2 or 3 years ago. I love Simmonds, one of my favorite Flyers ever. He is a PP specialist at this point though who can get you around 20 goals but is mostly a liability at ES. Sadly guys like him just don't age well.

Hope he wins a ship but he's not doing much for Nashville. 1pt in 8 games with -4%Cfrel with a 65% OZS.

Simmonds has been declining for three years, he might have a short bounceback next year, as he gets further from surgery, but I wouldn't bet on more than one year.

It's not just the injuries, the game has changed, his fighting skills are devalued, he's not a smooth puck handler or great forechecker, and he's really not a good shooter - just compare to JVR around the net, Simmonds was good at holding his ground and deflecting pucks, but doesn't have JVR's soft hands or passing skills.

Well, Raffl is a natural LW and Hartmann has been almost exclusively a RW.
You'd have to demote TK to the 4th line or move TK up and JVR down to make room for Hartman on the 3rd line.

I think Hartman is better suited to the 4th line with Laughton, both play best when created havoc with the forecheck, rather than trying to make plays.

Hell
And Giroux on RW is stupid too.

Am I only one who liked JVR-Laughton-Hartman line in these first Hartman's games in Philly? Because of I really liked them together.

It is my best TOP9 for us now.

For some reason I switch the top 2 centers or top 2 left wings. It's really 1A-1B with lines so it's change either centers or left wings for me. I'm willing to blender the top 2 lines every couple games until you get people going. You have to give it a few games to gel though.

He ******* himself when he played all of 17-18 with that LBI for no reason.
Team wasnt going anywhere and healthy or not he wasnt going to be the difference.

Shouldve just healed up and came back stronger instead he mortgaged his future.
Pisses me off that a player as likeable as him would shoot himself in the foot like that.

That's well-reasoned, deady. He should fit well with Laughton.

I probably would have just gone with, "He's better at hockeying and I like that about him."

Makes you wonder if management knew about the injury, and if they did know, why didn't they shut him down. The whole battle through/ warrior mentality is cool and all but really sucks to see him struggle so much now

Hartman should certainly be on the 3rd line. I don’t think Lavi gets fired this year no matter what happens. They had a lot of injuries and it takes time to get get things going. May not happen this year though.
