Loved watching him in the O&B - goals, hits, scraps - full out for the team around him and IMO underpaid during his prime. Just a great teammate, and good 'ol canadian boy all around.

One of the best net front powerplay performers in my lifetime.

Near the top of the list of guys I really wanted to see lift a Cup in Philly. Hope he at least gets a good shot with the Preds. He might just be the guy they need on their PP to get things done in the playoffs.

When we first traded Captain Richie many moons ago, I was hyped at the return we got. I expected the world out of Schenn (AKA Fat Slob) since he was the best prospect not in the NHL at the time. I looked up Simmonds on Elite Prospects and for some reason fell in love with the guy. No idea why I just believed he would turn into something. Simmonds turned into a crazy good warrior who was parked in front of the net of opponent goalies. He became the Wayne Train on the PP for a long time. He wasn't afraid to smack the shitters on the other teams. I will miss him lots. He definitely earned a place on the Flyers Hall of Fame for me.

One of the last of a dying breed in an increasingly wussified league. Really sad to be seeing him go, but glad it's at least on a team which I can actively root for.
In fact, may consider becoming a Predators fan if our current coaching staff is still here next season.
