Hello, I will be working in Moscow this this autumn and winter. What is the best way to watch the Bruins from Russia?

Are there NHL taverns to watch games with other fans?

In the Internets there obviously is the Gamecenter and/or illegal stream stuff.

On cable TV, I think Viasat and Setanta Sports are the TV channels that are broadcasting NHL games in Russia.

About watching live somewhere, I'd suggest to google something like "Moscow NHL sports bar" and spend some time studying the top results and writing down some addresses to check those later in person.

I have Gamecenter in the states. I know it doesn't work in certain countries, but it's great if it does in Russia. I don't like the illegal stream, I got a porn virus once from those.

As for bars... I've been checking some out online but wondering if any inside info on ones that are more hockey centric.

Eurosport was broadcasting NHL games last season. Not the best option if you want to follow your team. They would only give you a game or two per night preferrably with russian players in it.

Other networks might consider buying NHL rights, but they are not that sought after in Russia due to game times. Hard to get people to watch your ads at 4 in the morning.

That brings you to the next problem. Are you really planning on spending your very early mornings at a sports bar? Is there a sports bar open that late/early?

Weekend games, specifically the ones in the afternoon EST I would love to watch at a pub.

In that case you'd still need a broadcast of the specific game. That would be only available with Gamecenter and the likes most of the time unless your Bruins are playing one of the "russian" teams.

Tough call, but I guess the bigger sports bars in Moscow might have it available.

Does anyone know what happened to Eurosport's coverage? They should still show games this season (the three years aren't up yet), but I don't see any listed in their schedule.

Bad news for you. They moved the NHL to the Eurosport Gold Channel only available in special packages by Rostelekom cable network.
