This song sums up my feelings towards the Flyers 2013 edition, plus it's like Janis Joplin on steriods.

Idk if anyone is into blackmetal stuff, but I just picked up Deafheaven's new album "Sunbather" on vinyl and it sounds incredible.

They're a much more modern, intricate and intimate approach to the blackmetal sound. Lots of layers and original progressions and melodies. Almost like if you combined blackmetal and post-rock.

What do you guys think of the new QOTSA album?

I enjoy it. I'll have to listen to it more in the coming months, but they're still one of the best rock bands out there today. My initial impression is that I like it more than Era Vulgaris, but not as much as their best albums. Anybody who's still holding out hope that they'll release Songs for the Deaf part 2 is just out of luck. Not necessarily because they can't match the quality, but because they (or at least Homme) have no interest in being that heavy anymore.
