Even if they took the half value in USD, as soon as they break a bone, it's all gone anyways.
..one of the reasons our taxes are so high is to pay for corporate subsidies. Y'know, like beef. Seriously, the US price is so artificially low because the government loves supporting big companies. People like to blame welfare and ****, but corporate subsidies to farming, energy, and manufacturing industries dwarfs what we spend on, y'know, people.
But burgers for cheap, woo!
Anyways, good for this guy. The lottery sucks, but cool that he won.
LOL......if you don't know, we are not telling you!
We sleep a lot better up here!
This is hysterically, ridiculously inaccurate.
Yeah good thing "people" don't require "food" to live and can sustain themselves on nebulous and factually incorrect anti corporation rants.
Canadians make less, have higher living costs, no good beaches, freeze 9 months a year, have to hop the border any time they get seriously sick or injured to use crappy American health care instead of their amazing socialized health care, but hey, they have... Umm...
Uhh, 3 figures? What are you talking about???
Corporate subsidies would be labour.
Lol at this whole post.
Good for him. Even if is 200 000 as mentioned. Do you find such money on the street?
Well this thread escalated quickly.
More Americans travel to Canada than Canadians to America for health care. America has one of the highest infant mortality rates in the western world and lowest life expectancy rates. Canada ranks well above in each catagory. You should probably educate yourself in the slightest before sputting off. Basically at this point all you lead in is people locked up in prison and military spending. While you might also have the only world leader incapable of spelling his own name.
Believe the lottery tax is federal, which is why it gets so much attention.
They also can't "trade" him, he's a normal employee.
TBH a lottery winner will likely end up buying a place in Florida or somewhere else and spend half their year there anyhow.
lmao you are completely out of touch with reality with the bolded.
This is incorrect. Only Tampa has the tax advantage.
Some people really do have all the luck apparently.
Who would’ve predicted a thread about a lottery winner would turn into an US vs Canada thread...
Americans are very defensive about the state of their countries these days.
Canadian lottery winners are not taxed.
He would get the full $1million if he played here.

This thread got really weird really fast.
I'll just throw this in here for fun:
Let’s just come to terms that the US is better than Canada.
End the thread!
I dont know, why don't you ask the millions who do?
*laughs in European*
