Leave it to kill-joy Oilers' fans to label what was probably the highlight of the entire season a "distraction".
Given the choice between McDavid hitting 100 scoring points and the Oilers beating Winnipeg in the playoffs and then losing in round two, I think I would take McDavid hitting 100 points.
Frankly, the older I get, the less the myth of "meaningful games" carries any weight.
