And this guy agrees:

Marty McSorley agrees? Okay? But that video didn't show anything special at all. A bit after the whistle mutual shoving and whacking.

If that's all they can dig up Forsberg footage wise it kinda proves my point that he was a grumpy in-your-face player who occasionally would do something mildly dirty (like more or less half the league at that time).

The league had zero interest in protecting their stars back then, so he had to protect himself. Watch any game from the 1996 playoffs against Tampa Bay and look at what he had to put up with.

The play where he hospitalized Andreas Dackell was 3 seconds removed from Wade Redden trying to take his knees out.

No, Lindros was not one of the dirtiest players ever. Not even close. That said, he was one of biggest, meanest, most physically imposing machines to ever lace up skates. Make no mistake, opponents heard Lindros coming from 50 feet away. One player described Lindros coming at him was like hearing a train approaching fast up the tracks. What Lindros could do with a legit bodycheck was only rivaled by players such as Scott Stevens.

As for dirtier players, names like Hunter and Marchment immediately come to mind.

Lindros was a very undisciplined player who was the worst target to provoke, but FWIW of him, his hits were remarkably clean for a 90s 6'5 superphysical monster. Just compare him to Messier.
If Lindros hit guys the way Messier did he would probably get charged with involuntary manslaughter or second degree murder.
